Well, my 5T finally made a 3 foot belly flop onto a hard brick patio and shattered the screen. Absolutely loved this phone with full screen (without notch) and aux jack.

Discussion

Is there an equivalent with a 1440 QHD screen, headphone jack and 5g? Will only buy used and with enough development to root and flash custom ROM for the next 3+ years. What are your thoughts?

You can buy a replacement 5T on eBay for pretty cheap

I know, I've been seeing them almost $300 cheaper than what I initially paid. That or buy a new digitizer and replace myself.

I am still using my 5t and love it to death, seriously other than weak battery my phone is still flawless, having said that it's starting to show age as in technology wise, I mean 90hz display and new os and bigger battery is today's needs, ill be jumping to pixel 6 as soon as it comes out and use this 5t as backup . One plus made a gem of the phone and I don't feel like leaving it till it dies, probably use it as dedicated gaming phone, like seriously the age of the phone and this runs call of duty mobile like a breeze . Excellent phone , I wish one plus continued same design factor

I agree with most of what you said. The Pixel 6 looks like a throwback to Nexus devices minus the youeye bullshit. The colors are abysmal and I hope Google changes their mind and goes back to Oreo flavor soon.

Buy a Pixel 4a 5g

You won't see much improvement other than the battery life and the camera, and out of the box support for the latest Android. If you go with the new 5a5g ($50 cheaper - really google???) you get even better battery. I'm still switching between my op5t and pixel 4a5g every once in a while, but the almost 4 year old battery on the 5t is crying.

Yeah the 4a would be a downgrade to me. 5T was a flagship phone and I have the 8 ram version. Was looking into Sony Xperia phones bc it has everything I need, but the pricepoint it a little high for me

Well you did get great camera, audio, and build quality from Sony (my last Sony phones were X10 and Tipo), which for me justifies the premium price. Wasn't big fan of their Android builds at the time.

The camera is a massive winner for me, the 5T is an incredible phone, i bought it on release and still use it to this day and its smooth as the first day software wise though camera is pretty horrible.

Im running out of storage and cracked the screen but thats it.

Its time for an upgrade and the Pixel 6 is the only worthy upgrade for me.

But smaller budget wise the 4a 5g, with a big screen, best camera found on a phone ever and smooth software it really is a worthy upgrade.

You're not talking about the 4a5g, right? I thought it had a good camera too, but it's just Google AI processing the s**t out of the photo. I shoot JPEG+RAW on both phones, RAWs are just a bit cleaner on the Pixel
