TIL Overmars is our most expensive player sale, sitting at a whopping £36m all the way back in 2001.

Sorry for the extra negativity, it's just something I found out today and it's just baffling me how this could be the case when you consider some of the players we've had since then.

I've not checked the other teams but surely this has to be one of the lowest fees of the current PL teams (not counting for inflation).

Edit: I got this information from transfermarkt and according to a couple people, it appears it could be wrong - with Overmars actually selling for £25m, as it was a combined deal to Barca, along with Petit.

Either way, that is a depressing list and it really does highlight even more how this club has failed in recent years.
