Lanterns n venus, a true double classic that deserves applause

I agree

This looks like lanterns to me, personally. I never like to definitively say what something is though… other people will likely say lanterns too. They seem to move in that way. Floating off from the ground.

I agree with the orange light being lanterns as well

It is a point of light in a dark sky. It is worthless as proof of UFOs.

Another reason I wasn’t going to post it, but I’ve seen other “points in a dark sky” in this subreddit, so I thought I’d give it a try

I don't fault you for that. Just please realize that no one can help you here with that video. Hang around and learn. Then maybe your sighting will bring some new information

I've seen a few things like yours. I speculate too. I'm not saying it isn't alien... I'm saying don't post it here until you are sure. Be able to analyze, and offer support for your claim. Also, be ready to defend your ideas. This was not a video to stake your reputation on🥰

I think you may have seen something. I'm in the Southern tier, and i try to watch the sky a few nights a week, just looking for fast-walkers, or anything out of the normal flight paths. It's ok to smoke a little, and it's ok to drink a little, and it's ok to explore our consciousness. Keep up the hunt! 🥰

I understand

Background: Can someone help me break this down ? there were 2 phenomena here. First was the bright light under the power line, I noticed it way before the other lights at about 8 pm while there were no stars out this light was way too bright and stationary, first it was above the power line then slowly slowly moved under while simultaneously disappearing and reappearing also slowly. Second phenomena as you saw in the video the other lights came out of nowhere.

Some round orange shit is flying around. If no aliens involved maybe chinese lanterns - people tend to send a group of them

I agree

Then get some off amazon... go to a beach at sunset with a couple friends & let em fly. Bring some beer or doodle. Its fun.

2

Sounds crazy to modern ears of course, but I'll say it. These orbs of light many people are seeing in our skies are the "Watchers" and "wandering stars" of the old testament. fallen angels.

Bro how often to people set tons of lanterns into the air though? That’s not a common thing as far as I know lol

adhdacdc•

Rubbish! Doesn't have to be common for it to happen. It could have been on that particular night someone released chinese lanterns and it was filmed.

4
SetExtension1028•

Agreed. What I’m saying is I have recently seen quite a few of these videos similar to this and everyone’s go to is “lanterns”. I don’t think it’s common enough to happen that often and you can usually research if some event is letting them off nearby

3
gerkletoss•

Common things are less likely to confuse people.

2
adhdacdc•

Yes, but if you think about the whole ufo thing; ligitimate ufo sightings that are filmed or captured in stills, are not that common either. The amount of lights seen in the footage are far less than I've seen being released by a small group of friends having a beer at night. For some reason, you think lanterns being released can only happen at a public event. I know loads of people who have released lanterns to remember people that have died or just because it's a cool thing to do at night. They don't advertise they're going to do it. They just do.

Allison1228•

If people are reporting chinese lanterns all the time, that’s a sign that they’re common, not rare.

2
SetExtension1028•

People aren’t reporting them, this is just an assumption by the viewers.

So they actually are pretty common on the coasts I think. They are usually lit for parties, graduations & weddings.

I think they happen more often because you didn't often see them. It's something a lot of people haven't done before.... so it's trendy. Also it's fun, & looks cool. If you have a party & the centerpiece for the tables is a lantern or 2.... well now you actually have something people want.

1

Pretty often in the summer. That's when I did it.

2
OfThatParOP•

I was thinking that too, also I checked the direction I was looking in on maps & i wasn’t looking in the direction of a beach or anything. In addition this isn’t china, not saying they only do that in China but this is upstate ny

1†
SetExtension1028•

Yeah I really don’t think it’s as common in the US as some ppl may think

-1
J_aixela•

Maybe Google it instead of making these comments. Sky lanterns are incredibly common and it's pretty ridiculous to claim otherwise.

Here are several links from a quick search:

Lights Over America Lantern Festivals

Night Lights Events

The Lights Fest

Rise Festival

Wedding planners/venues also use them and it's become a huge trend in recent years:

Wedding Day Sparklers - Lanterns

All the links above pertain to various lantern festivals and events that take place *within the US*.

Now you know! :)
