The Ironwood Thing
This is gonna sound like a rough cobble of thoughts so bare with me LOL. I've seen people say that the Ironwood twist in V7-V8 is one of the most poorly written plotlines out there, but I really like it. Not because it's entertaining (while it still is), but because of the contrast it sparked. RWBY+JNOR and Ironwood both end up in this grey area of who's right, and I love to see that. Team RWBY is trying to follow a more "ethical" path while dealing with the consequences of betraying Ironwood's trust. Ironwood is trying to protect Remnant and Atlas from Salem by bringing it out of reach. The "save everyone" approach is nice, but the flaw is that trying to save everyone can leave your priorities split, while the "save who you can" approach leaves you focused on fighting off Salem, but letting her have the divides she needs to keep infiltrating the cities, just as Watts and Tyrian did.
Either way, I find it super interesting, so lmk what you think in the comments and I'd be happy to discuss!
