Was I wrong to not be her friend?
She wanted to be friends while she worked on herself. She left me and moved across the country… she said some really really terrible things about me. Betrayed my trust for her as a person by telling people we didn’t even know that well that she was afraid I would hit her (never would in 1,000,000,000 years) that I’m evil behind closed doors (all I ever did was try and level with her emotional block, I can be intense sometimes but wouldn’t yell at her for being complicated.) she would slap me across the face on occasion, like she was trying to draw something out of me… but no… when she would breakdown emotionally she would just scream at me and I did my best to not but sometimes I would just lose it and usually yell “why are you doing this to me? All I ever do is love you.” Some context: we went on a cruise and we both got hammered she ended up running off at the end of the night and got lost while crying and I couldn’t find her and had a group of middle aged woman and their husbands taking care of her I’m the platinum lounge on Royal Caribbean and by the time I found her there were like 100+ people with her telling me I need to be a better person to her and take better care of her…. WHAT?!) but she painted a picture of me to others that I’m abusive and down right awful. How can I just brush that off?? She was my best friend and I hers but she showed otherwise through conversation and action. She was so cold and distant in the end and it was so frustrating to deal with. 7 years with this girl and instead of growing she did the opposite. It’s so frustrating but she left and said she wanted to date others. It can’t be mentally healthy to stay friends with someone who isn’t here…
I really don’t know anymore I’m a great guy but she totally demoralized me and I feel like I’m not good enough for anyone… I’m ok with being single now but like what the fuck??
