You’re probably too young to remember the NDP. We have not had any good governments in Manitoba, basically ever. The NDP’s overspend and the PC’s cut everything. We need strong leadership in this province, sadly it’s not going to be happening anytime soon

People need to remember during any election that Conservative politicians do not, under sany circumstances, care about the average person. They care about the far right and big business, and will gladly throw average people under the bus the first chance they get.

Only thing I can think of is the red seal program they’ve been pushing and possibly they’re setting the cutoff date to write the equivalency test as they will not let you sign hours unless you have a red seal. Shame they wouldn’t grandfather in all the existing “A” fitters so they have qualified fitters signing hours, not newly minted fitters with little experience.

Came to ask the same - I had missed that, and nothing comes up in a quick google search

Interested on the residential gas fitting deregulation… any further source on this?

I knew about the health and safety. Hard to believe about the gasfitting but wouldn't surprise me. If someone did vote for that, I hope they are the first customers and I hope I don't live in the same neighborhood that goes boom! Not something to piss around with if you are not trained!

What's next, surgeons can only use their opposite hand to perform surgery? How is someone with zero knowledge or training allowed to make a law that has the possibility to harm many innocent people? If it is true, who are the voters and how can I question them on their decision?

My dude, this was all over the news for like half a year and affected about 1 in 8 working Manitobans. If not you directly (which it appears not to be), then very likely someone in your family or someone you care about. But also this contradicted the collective bargaining agreement of several unions, which affects potentially even more workers.

You’ve got to be better informed than that.

Illegally froze? Was there a law in place for public sector wage increase that Pallister/Stefanson broke?

“The Pallister/Stefanson government illegally froze the wages of public sector workers, reduced workplace health and safety laws, fought against increases to the minimum wage and recently even deregulated resential gas fitting. A strong legacy to carry on.”
