Not sure what rock I've been living under, but why am I discovering this only now? (And SoC is tagged "explicit"!)

It was only released a few weeks ago, you haven't necessarily been living under a rock! Not sure about the Stream of Consciousness marked as explicit thing, though.
Ah right. I did a quick search and saw articles and pages from a few months ago around Lost Not Forgotten. FIgured this one must have been from around the same time too.
Really enjoying the mixing on this, bass notes are very clear. Something I've always wanted to hear more of. All the way down to Endless Sacrifice now.
Explicitly difficult to play petrucci’s parts……….
I'm surprised by how many people are only just discovering the LNF Archives now. Better late than never I suppose!
SoC is explicit cause Portnoy yells something along the lines of "fuck yeah it's done" at the end
If anything HTF should be marked as explicit.
This hit me because I thought this was only released on Ytse Jam thru MP? I must have missed some news.
yea, during the images and words live stream back in janurary they said they were rereleasing their archived materials (bootlegs and the sorts) the mp ystejam thing has been dead for a while but now the band is bringing the stuff back through the lost not forgotten archives
the site itself only has rare limited edition vinyls, if you want regular vinlyls or cds, stores like centurymedia.store have them
iirc they are also remixing or remastering (not sure what is the correct term) them but I could be wrong
I'm looking at the site now. Thanks. Says the entirety of the Ytsejam stuff will be reissued. Awesome. Looking forward to that. Although I see a signed ToT vinyl for $250... But I can't imagine it's signed by all the members on that record. Hmm.
I guess it's marked as explicit because Petrucci really fucks with his guitar during the solos
Reminds me how they cut out the “Fucked” from the As I Am-version on Greatest Hit
I mean, seriously
Are these the same as the demos that were floating around as bootlegs for a long time? If so I hope they release the super long failing to infinity demos, which are arguably better than the ones that got released.
yes, they are the same, maybe remastered or something but the same (and I could be wrong about them being remastered)
Only explanation I can give with SoC being tagged "explicit" is that since they're demo songs, it's possible to hear some chatter with the band in two of the songs (This Dying Soul, and Stream of Consciousness). And at the end of the recording for Stream of Consciousness, Mike Portnoy can be heard screaming "We're f***ing done!"
Nice catch. That's probably the first instrumental with explicit content.
Can anyone make out the last 10 seconds of that chatter on SoC? I hear Portnoy say "that was better, wasn't it?" and then it sounds like Petrucci agrees and then there's something else after that.
Actually "Figaro's Whore" by Sons of Apollo was marked "Explicit" even though it's an instrumental track. My only explanation for that one is the title, as it is a studio recording, not a demo.
Yep just heard it. This is it. Thanks!
