Their despise towards RNs is obvious. Asking for leadership roles and denying their own professional core at the same time. Is this some kind of professional dysphoria?

More like ‘we’re too good for them!’ but they r both nurses! Gotta love that!

Yes LOL

It’s sort of a two way street however. CRNA’s get absolutely zero support financially or even a voice from professional nursing bodies. It’s pretty ridiculous how the AANA has no allies and only enemies. I guess they asked for it however with comments like this. Foot in mouth.

CRNAs make crazy money, they don't need support financially

The AANA endorses the use of CRNAs in MD roles. Bunch of delusional idiots.

They're not idiots, they know exactly what they're doing and it's working

"The AANA does not support the use of Certified REGISTERED NURSE Anesthetists in REGISTERED NURSE roles." Alright...

Meanwhile residents in some hospitals are being forced to do nursing tasks like bathing patients 🙄

Honestly some of them treat the PACU nurses like shit. I was giving a break to one once and I had slowed down the fluids since patient didn't have a foley to make life a bit easier on the PACU nurses. CRNA was like " I dgaf what they think. it's literally their job to clean up the patient if they soil themselves and get bedpans. "

Like, jeez. whatever happened to teamwork?

Teamwork from a CRNA? Don’t hold ur breath!

Nursing shortage is because of admin treating nurses like shit, nurses getting PTSD from covid and the good ol churn and burn mentality.

And right at the bottom:

"Please note that while the AANA is not suggesting that CRNAs should be mandated to work in RN roles, if the CRNA has malpractice liability insurance through AANA Insurance Services, the CRNA’s Medical Protective (MedPro) policy provides coverage for work as a CRNA and as an RN. If you are not covered through AANA Insurance Services, be sure to check with your malpractice liability insurance carrier that your insurance coverage extends to your new responsibilities."

So, yeah, go ahead and work as an RN because we'll cover you from an insurance perspective.

This is the crux of it all. They are complete hypocritical opportunists. So you’re telling me your most foundational skills set is nursing yet when that’s exactly what we need you’re no where to be found because this is below you? Or are you afraid we will be reminded of how useful and perfect you are in that role and that you don’t wanna mess up your public perception that you’re trying to convince the public that you’re closer to an MD/DO than RN? Like bitch we see y’all for your works…. Ain’t fooling us!

You’re still a nurse ! A clown one at that

That sounds like a delusion only people in medicine believe. I have literally never ever heard a crna claim to be an MD or anything close to it. That's obviously not why they advise against crnas doing bedside, they dont want people to get hurt. & Youre obviously projecting feelings of bitterness that your degree isnt seen as special as you once thought it was. Calling someone an opportunist for trying to make more money for their family is so ironic hahaha

Are you trying to tell me CRNAs aren’t RNs?

6

I'm saying that they just have an RN license. Just because you graduated nursing school doesnt mean you know shit lol or that you can take care of patients. and I think they should not be taking care of people if they dont know how or feel confident. I dont want the 3 year registered nurse with their only experience in dialysis and crna school, suddenly come to the bedside and titrate meds or take care of me lol. It's like saying...... just because you have a license and a nissan doesnt mean you can drive a truck or a van. You're gonna kill people. Think about the patients and not healthcare worker politics.

Something we agree on.

Only nurses when they can unionize or be absolved of liability. Pathetic

7

Stop pretending you give a shit about staffing or nursing shortages. The problem with having an opinion is that it needs to be informed.

That's hard to do when you're not familiar with a nurses skill set, scope of practice, or experience. Just because you have a license to drive doesnt mean you know how to drive a car. or that you CAN, or should. You're not flipping burgers, you're dealing with people's lives and the fact you're angry that someone wont take an unsafe patient assignment they cant handle, shows that this is more about your feelings towards mid level providers rather than a patients safety. Let's have the person who hasnt worked bedside in twenty years take care of, and assess your mom. Then tell me it's safe and that we're making up a staffing crisis. Unbelievably.
