In the game the criteria for Attack (To-Hit) Value+Damage is PL times 2. Thus a PL 15 character can only have a total value of Attack+total Damage of 30. Your Gladiator with his 15 STR, +5 STR, and 10 Sword is 30 Damage by itself. That means his Close Combat Attack Value would need to be 0. This means he would seldom hit his targets.

On a side note, at the very least players should be familiar with the basic PL Character Creation rules discussed on pages 24 and 25.

A 15 strength punch imwould be around 4 kilotons. So very small nuke or very big conventional explosion

Question: what about his 15 Damage Punch? Last I checked it was around 100 nukes or something?

I’m fixing his stats rn, I turned the 15 strength into a 10 and relocated more points into Fighting, so now he has a +6 to his Fighting score, meaning he now has more towards hitting the target as well

Edit: he also has improved critical 4

The fact that he will only hit people 5% of the time, when you roll a Natural 20, means you should rename him *The Whiffer*. :)

With Strength of 15 + 5 from the gauntlets + 10 from the Sword that would be 30 damage. 
That is exactly the limit for damage + attack bonus for a PL 15 character. so while it would be legal, it would only be legal if the character has a +0 to attack (which in most cases would mean they have a 5% chance to hit anything even close to their powerlevel) 

Also 30 damage is absolutely fucking bonkers. If you assume damage follows the same scale as other stats (+1 point equals double effectiveness) that would mean the character deals 1024 times more damage than Centurion, Freedom City's Superman analogue and about 262144 times more damage than the PL 10 Paragon archetype. 

(EDIT: An amateur boxer has a punching force of 2500 N if we assume a strength of 1 for an amateur. that means a strength 30 punch/strike would exert roughly 1340000000000 N of force which is roughly equivalent to 130 Megatons which is 30% more than the highest estimation of the Force of the Tsar Bomba)

Because it helps for when I join a campaign as a player. I’m the forever DM/GM in my group, but you never know what could happen lol

Why bother optimizing such things for an NPC? NPCs don't matter, and don't need to be optimized in such a manner.

I do have All Out, Power, and Accurate, as well as Improved Critical 4 just to really destroy anybody in his way lol

Others have noted the extreme shift between to-hit and Effect. The rules don't recommend going past +/-5 off PL, so you probably don't want to make the base more than +10/20 as the balance. Take advantage of shift maneuvers like All-Out Attack and Accurate Attack to help in situations where a better to-hit is needed.

As I eluded to above about reading the PL criteria Tradeoff limits on pages 24-25, a character can have his To-Hit (Attack) value + Damage/Effect value at PLx2. So if you are PL 10 your Attack plus Damage cannot exceed 20. You could have a 10 Attack and 10 Damage, or 8 Attack and 12 Damage, or 14 Attack and 6 Damage, etc. 

Superman is PL 15. His Attack value is 11 and his STR is 19. 11+19=30. 

The only time Damage and other Attack Effects are limited to PL is when there is no Attack Check required: Perception or Area attacks.

PL and its limits is the most important thing in the game to learn and know.

Look at the [build for Superman](https://i.imgur.com/4UlbMsc.jpg), who is also PL15. Notice that he has +11 to hit and rank 19 damage with his fists. That’s a -4/+4 trade-off, which is pretty extreme. You should aim for your NPC to be fairly close to this.

As a Wonder Woman fan, I have some experience with things like giving a high-strength character a weapon. Maybe build the sword something like this?

Magic Sword: adds Penetrating 10 to Strength Damage, Variable Descriptor (Magic, Piercing, or Slashing); Indestructible = 12 points

Its all legal, as long the Gladiator have a sword attack bonus of +0.

I presume your GM is homebrewing things, because that's not what the Minion Advantage is for at all.  What you have there is a Variable Effect *flavoured* as a swarm of nanobots that transform into things.  But the Variable Effect is **much** more expensive than the Minion Advantage - and for good reason, given how powerful that is.

(Technically Hero is the gender neutral term, Heroine is the only one that specifies gender.)

While this sounds like a lot of fun, I would like to point out that this is definitely not rules legal. If that's not a big deal for you, there's no problem with that, but since this is a public forum I figured I'd say that for anyone else

bro I have no idea this game is super easy to break but super fun as well and I’m just a beginner 

my character who’s a hero(ine? do we have a term for genderneutral heroes?) that’s just starting out is like alien royalty and a lone survivor of their world, and can like shapeshift and temporarily mind control people. That’s not the fun part, what is is that my GM let me invest a lot of points in the Minions skill, which we agreed upon to be flavored as 500+ 1-foot tall alien robots that can combine into a variety of things and are each equipped with what’s essentially a phaser from Star Trek, projectile taser pretty much.


In the span of a few sessions, I have used them to:

Form power armor

Form an electric chair around a person

Make a mortar

Make a genuine gun that shoots enough volts to kill a man

Make a reusable EMP grenade


and I plan to make a flying vehicle

Now, keep in mind I’m the GM, and this is an NPC who basically acts as the Superman of my world, named “The Gladiator”.

The Gladiator has a Natural Strength Score of 15, a pair of removable gauntlets that give him an extra +5 strength, and a sword that deals 10 Magical Strength-based damage.

With that in mind, is this build illegal within the rules of the base game, no house rules or Homebrew involved? I want all characters to be fair and balanced for fighting the players/appearance instead of making a Cheatie McCheaterson

Edit: forgot to mention he also has Improved Critical 4 and Power Attack. I’m taking your advice and lowering his strength to put more into his accuracy in Fighting, since he also has a Bow with magic arrows so he needs ranged combat as well
