New to carpentry

Hi guys! I am new to carpentry and began apprenticing last month. My boss and I custom built a cabinet for a customer's theater room, and we put a lot of love into making the cabinet. However, I messed up while installing a handle on one of the cabinet doors. It is about 1/16 inch - 1/32 inch off from matching the handle on the opposite door... Does anybody have any tips or suggestions on how to remedy it so it matches up? I am so upset with myself. I swear I measured it a million times with my speed square and tape. I really don't want to tell my boss about my mistake so any suggestions would be amazing. Thanks!!
