Seeking recommendations for residential LAN Cat6 / Ethernet Cable Wiring Installation
đź‘‹ Hello
I have a gigbit fiber access point router located in a common room along an exterior wall, and am wondering how to go about locating a person able to install a Ethernet cable to be run through a hole or connection in the wall, up into the attic, and along the joists / beams, etc, and across about 75ft worth of distance, to another room on the opposite side of the 🏡 house, and then drop that cable down so I am able to make a hardline wired connection to some equipment (computer, VOIP portal).
I would prefer to avoid having to run the cable Along the exterior of my home, unless that is a more simple or common installation method.
Does anyone have a recommendation about how to go about finding someone who can perform the installation? In addition to materials, what would I be looking at in terms of labor costs or what would be a good point of reference for the contracting rate or wages? Obviously everyone’s circumstance is different so I imagine there is a variation in pricing based on the complexity of the installation and the amount of time involved.
I don’t have the skill or the tools required to do the installation myself, and I’m also red green colorblind so having a professional do the installation would be preferable for me as I’m not able to distinguish wire colorings or things which I assume are essential to a proper installation.
If anyone has any recommendations for installers or contractors in the DFW area, specifically the mid cities/HEB or Northeast Tarrant county area, I need a hard-line connection set up by the end of the month, and any suggestions or guidance would be much appreciated!
