Games of the Week (Feb 6 - 13)

Alright, I've been a little busy so I didn't get to a game of the week discussion last week. Also the amount of games seem to have been a little light lately. So without further ado, let's get to it.

Game 1: DD vs. WE

One work: Huskar.

For those of you who don't know WE is a Chinese team that has started to play DotA 2, and DD is the former SK. From the get-go, DD picks a pretty standard team and WE is like "We're Chinese and we're going to pick some weird as fuck team with even more uncommon lane set-ups."

If you want to watch a pro player play Huskar, this is a game to watch. WE had a heartbreaking loss due to Huskar getting far too cocky in the game, WE showed up against one of the top teams in the world right now and gave a pretty impressive performance.

Why do I feel this game is a worthy game to watch? This showcases the way the general trend of the Chinese meta-game. Aggressive play and pushing early and hard.

Game 2, 3, & 4: Dignitas vs. Ariana Game 1, Dignitas vs. Ariana Game 2, Part 2, Dignitas vs Ariana Game 3

I suggest skipping Game 2 Part 1 due to the fact that it's something like 20 minutes of pause and 5 minutes of actual play. Nothing really important happens in part 1. Although I think Game 2 wasn't the weakest in terms of spectator value out of the series, relatively poor execution on both teams (as per their regular level of play).

I feel Game 1 is definitely the one worth watching if you don't have time to watch all 3, the rest are kind of meh in my opinion mostly because I don't like the style of play I was seeing in those two. It's not exciting or novel, but it's good execution.

Some awesome picks all around . We see Razor in not one but TWO games! Come on, who doesn't love seeing Razor?!

Overall excellent play from both sides across the games.
