2042 launches now in the middle of the triple A shooter sandwich(Between COD and Halo.) But here is the thing. Isn’t The middle of a sandwich the best part(AKA The favorite Meat you wanted on the sandwich)? Think about that.

See where I’m coming from? I think u all do. So do the DEVS.

I dont think EA marketing is basing their launch dates on random sayings X)

At this point they're throwing shit at the wall and hoping it sticks, I wouldn't even be surprised

I mean yeah for an actual sandwich. It's not advantageous for a game.

Ask Titanfall 2 about how they feel about being the "meat".....

Just wanted to post the same, Titanfall 2 was by far the best shooter that released in its release period but got overshadowed by CoD and Battlefield and now they want to sandwich it Between Halo and CoD

Titanfall two is in no way the same. A former exclusive title that didn’t get a lot of fanfare and was fairly niche coming out with a sequel wasn’t going to fly off the shelves anytime of the year. May as well hit that winter game sale window.

Probably true, but it also probably still would've performed a hell of a lot better if they launched it during a dry period instead of one week after BF1.

A little bit more maybe not a whole lot. maybe if the first titanfall wasn’t exclusive. That burned a lot of people because it had an interesting concept.

Battlefield doesn’t compete with either of these two games. Both of these games are far more popular. Chances are if a person can only buy one game a month they were simply gonna skip battlefield so they could double dip in November. That hasn’t changed. I know y’all love the franchise but it’s niche title.

This is the tough love people don't want to hear.

Chasing the giants is only going to get you crushed.

And there’s no point to it too! I can’t think of another game that does what battlefield does. Well I can think of one. Planetside 2. I doubt most people here even know what that is but it’s basically battlefield but sci-fi alien planet, big battles and vehicles.

PlanetSide 2 is an amazing title that found its niche and stayed there. A few others that come to mind are Squad, Rising Storm 2, Insurgency, and Foxhole.

People have this idea that BF is trying to compete with CoD or Halo, when in reality the marketing should be the exact opposite.

My forever worry is that EA will do to BF and DICE what they did to Danger Close and MoH - run it into the ground chasing CoD.

It’s the same niche as battlefield. Battlefield is staying put. It’s not becoming like CoD in any real way. It’s the battlefield fanbase that keeps trying to chase CoD. Ever since the marketing for bf3 the whole “go beyond the call of duty”. It was an attempt to attract the console community over to battlefield and it worked decently bf3 blew every other battlefield game at the time out the water in terms of sales.

I guess that emboldened the hardcore battlefield fans that they could take on CoD. MW3 dumped all over battlefield in terms of sales that year. It was never a contest. There was never a rivalry.

No, given folks looking to upgrade consoles, and cost for that, and all these other announcements, folks are going to go with the company that has their act together.

So, i would think COD will again post record sales, the BF hype now gone, and the Halo hype, i know from Xbox is going to sell. Not to mention, other interesting shooter titles, like HLL, Insurgency, Apex and others.

So, with all the expense, idt folks are buying all these games at one pop. In short, there's no good news for a delay.
