2021 Brownlow Medal One-Vote Wonders

Who do you think will finish the Brownlow Medal count with just a single vote? No more, no less.

I'll kick things off with my pick - Cody Weightman.

Coops Sharman should get at least one for his performance against Freo in round 23

One brownlow vote but not a rising star nom, astounding really.

Lachie Swole got 3 and no nom for that round

Wouldn't have been mad if it was him that got the nomination though

Dan Rioli.

Had a bucnh of absolute trash games and then was out of the team but then had some massive games off of half back near the end. I could see him snagging a vote from one of those.

Is that why they retired Houli, because Rioli has his spot now?

2
BergasmsRichmond•

Yeah I would say it would have had some impact on it.

Gulden will probably poll at least one vote for his debut game: 3.1, 19 touches and 10 marks.

Sam Wicks will also probably poll in Round 3 against Richmond, he was really good that game.

Gulden could poach a vote in other games. Wicksy has the 1 vote on lock imo

Wicks was close to, if not, BOG against us wasn't he? He'd get 2 or 3 wouldn't he

Zach Guthrie only played one game he’s a chance at votes in, he might get more than 1 though. I think against North from memory.

BOG

Higgins/smith were good that day too. But Guthrie was better

I can see someone obscure from us like Trey Ruscoe getting their only vote for the season from the Round 20 game against West Coast. Even the duds on our team looked good that day

Tim English round 4 v Brisbane, although he might squeeze in for a 2 voter

6
FlyingMiniMonkFreo•

For Freo, there is:

Taberner round 10 against the Bombers

Schultz round 2 against GWS (think he just misses )or round 15 against the Pies (Think he polls 1)

Lobb for round 11 against the Swans (Think he just misses) or round 17 against the Hawks (think he gets 1)

5
nashvilleh0tchickenRichmond '80•

Didn't Taberner have the really good game against the eagles too? Surely he'd poll there

FlyingMiniMonkFreo•

The Derby? He wasn't top 3.

1
nashvilleh0tchickenRichmond '80•

Yeah the derby towards the end of the year. Maybe I’m thinking about a different forward, but from memory him (as well as serong) came up massive in that game

I'm thinking Paddy Dow. He had a few high clearance but only like 20-25 touches games and I think he'll pick up a vote from one of them.

3

Zurhaar feels like the type of player that might snag one somewhere. Had a couple of reasonable performances

3
C_I_GAYWest Coast•

Jamie Cripps when he kicked 5 against the Crows

2
WayneKingU#ItsNotEasyBeingGreene•

That might earn him more than 1 vote though

3

oh I thought it was just polling once

Lachie Sholl

He's probs getting 4

Matt Flynn is a good chance to snag 1 for GWS on debut in round 1

Ed Curnow against Hawthorn

Matty De Boer when he tagged Walsh to just 6 kicks and had an impact offensively himself, got him down for a vote against Carlton earlier in round 14
