Thunderbird Client

Greetings,

i have setup bridge on my macbook everything is good but i login and all my messages download into my inbox on my thunderbird client but when i try to send a message the send box just sits there for like 3 minutes or until i cancel the ports are ok for send and receive i get no errors but the sent box just sits there anyone know has to what the problems is the host 127.0.0.1 is good the starlts and normal password is fine i get no timeouts
