Apartment recommendations in Dunwoody?

I'm going to be moving to the Northern Atlanta area and am looking for apartments in the Dunwoody area to keep my commute time low. From what I could see on websites, it seems like 2 bedrooms are pretty close in price to 1 bedrooms at a lot of places, so I'm preferably looking for a 2 bedroom with the intent of getting a roommate at a later date.

Does anybody have recommendations of places that are good or places to avoid? I don't want to go much above $2k/month. (And why is rent so high? Seems a lot higher than other cities with similar COL) Mainly looking for places with decent walkability and in-unit washer/dryers. Safety is my main focus.

(Sorry if this is a dumb question. I've never lived in a city before, only suburban/rural areas, so I'm a bit nervous about living in a city for the first time)
