Movies where the main character is an awful person purely because of bad writing

What I’m looking for is a movie where the main character is supposed to be a good guy in the narrative of the story, but due to said story/character being terribly written, the main character comes off as a sociopath.

The prime example of what I’m talking about would be Shark Tale (2005), but this request isn’t limited to animation
