I need help for my hobgoblin PC's backstory

Hello everyone !

So I'll be playing a hobgoblin genie (dao) warlock (pact of the blade) in a new campaign starting in 2 weeks. He'll obviously have left his legion or be separated from it (or else he wouldn't be an adventurer), but I don't want him to hate all other hobgoblins.

I want to figure out a reason why he would have become an adventurer that doesn't necessarily hate other hobgoblins. Also I would like to avoid the "raised by humans/elves/dwarves, etc..." backstory because I think it's too common. Hit me with your best ideas, I'll be very grateful ! :D
