Credit Card: Maximum Credit Limit?

I am applying for a Amex Airpoints Card and I do get an option to select maximum Credit Limit based on my application information. I am new to NZ but in the US, I would have selected that as a Yes!
How does it affect my credit score/reputation in NZ financial system.
