I don’t think you can attach a winch directly to a detacher

Thank, I’ve changed it to vtol but still nothing happens

Set the input to vtol or trim throttle won’t work since it can only hold a +X but vtol and trim can have a -X the winch uses a -X to wind up and a +X to extend. Nothing happens because it is fully extended

I’ve also got rid of the fuel tanks (thanks) and attached winch directly to plane, but I’m ready to take off (activate it and add throttle) yet it doesn’t retract

The winch needs to be connected to the plane/cockpit. I’m not sure if this works but you might be able to connect a cockpit to the The winch area but if that doesn’t work just use a detacher rather than a magnet. You also don’t need the fuel tank unless the glider uses fule

its not working because the start length set the max retract point and since its at its max retract point it can't pull the glider. set the start point of the winch to 0 so the pull thing is close to the glider. then add retractable wheels to the puller and some way to make it move forward. once you start the game set the winch to extend and move the puller forward a bit then retract the wheels so it wont move. then retract the winch and it will pull the glider
