aritzia.comI kind of suspected that because if you look at the product photos (see here) you can see where the dye is faded along the neckline, button creases and other places where gd doesn't hold well and fades first. This is what gd pieces tend to look like after a couple of washes, and I raised my eyebrow at a couple of Wilfred Free pieces that don't advertise as gd but you can clearly see where the dye has faded. I mean it would be nice to be proven wrong because some of those pieces have caught my eye lol.

So I had seen the Wilfred free sweatshirt on u/benddiagram and knew I had to buy it. However they said that it came with the gd tag on it, even though aritzia did not state it was gd in the description. So I talked to the concierge 3 different times to make sure it wasn’t gd and they tell me that only the tna line does gd and if it had the gd tag on it then it was a mistake. So I purchased the sweatshirt online and it came in the mail today, I immediately tear the package open to confirm it wasnt gd and lo and behold…that stupid tag was there! So I think “Have I been lied to?” and hop on my laptop to talk to concierge for the 4th time, you can see the screenshots of the conversation above. So the concierge says that she will contact the product department but it will take a couple of days for her to get back to me, I’ll make sure to post an update for those of you who are considering buying it. I really hope I don’t have to send it back, I like it a lot ;(

omg I'm so sorry for your experience but I can't believe I've influenced someone to buy something 😂 this is my first influencer moment. I still haven't washed mine yet so I can't comment on how it's holding up just yet... fingers crossed they're not GD 🥲 cuz it looks really cute on you too!

Don’t be sad yet! Hopefully the concierge will tell me it’s not gd🙏 i’m hoping that they put the gd tag on it mistakenly because the website says the sweatshirt should look faded but it wasn’t actually garment dyed

American Eagle is selling sweaters almost identical to this, if you don’t mind the knit look over fleece

Garment dyed, it means they dyed the finished product so that as you wash it it fades over time

Someone mentioned AE but it really also reminds me of the Patagonia snap button sweaters. I have a men’s one I stole from my brother that I use for an oversized fit (and just really like the ethics of the brand and great CS).

Damn I’m sorry they gave you incorrect information.. Wilfred Free does a lot of Gd items, like their free fleece/ free terry sweaters and some of their pants too (modern cargo, modern utility, ascendant etc.). Stupid Gd!!!
