7 year old mexican me smashed a white girl's face onto her bday cake and everyone gasped in horror. I thought the tradition transcended cultures. Boy was I wrong. My mom apologized profusely but the damage was done. The girl and her crew hated me forever lmao.

Oh no! I’m sorry, that’s horrible. Yeah, when my niece did it I just shrugged thinking it was something the kids were doing for fun and who cares. But my parents (mom is middle eastern and dad is white and also had no idea this was a thing) were shocked that she’d ruined the expensive cake her parents bought her 😂 They’ve talked before about her being spoiled and given too many things like expensive clothes, new car etc, and I think watching her hurt her cake just fed into that view they have. I’m going to tell them it’s a cultural thing, because they’d respect that and it would make it make sense lol.
