Decor painting - see the pinned post
Ty. Solved
Pamela?
I am not attracted to you anymore.... NOT
This painting appears to be oil on canvas and the canvas itself is pretty dry and old looking. Someone threw it to the curb after moving into a house in Arkansas. I really want to know about the artist. Saw a similar painting for sell on eBay by the same artist.
this is a Bob Ross number from a more innocent time. it's trying for a Beirdstadt/Frazetta synthesis. It might not be worth any money but it is worth hanging on to.
Beirdstadt/Frazetta synthesis
LOL
Add Eddie Breen style changes, or try adding Godzilla.
EDIT: MORE!
That could be fun
If you like it and it brings you some joy then it's not worthless.
Put it back and walk away
They watched allot of Bob Ross

I read through the pinned comment on this sub on decor paintings and I'm sure this is absolutely a dumb question, forgive me, but did someone still physically paint this? Or was it done by a machine? I just struggled to understand.
Again I apologize if this is a ridiculous question.
Many times multiple people painted this and it is a fake name. So one person paints the sky, and does sky on every canvas in a row all day long. The next person paints water. Then another mountains. Then someone else paints trees, only trees. All of them. Then there is a detail person to add in the white globs of paint. Then they add on a “signature.” It is a generic sounding name.
This is all very good info.
Thank you so much! Very helpful.
Secondary question that is likely dumb. How should one view signed and numbered prints?
There is a market for signed and numbered prints by established artists. But older good prints by established artists are often not numbered or signed.
The value of any art is really just what the market will bear I say, "If you like it buy it." But I also believe art is richer when you understand something about the artist's bio and intention.
Helpful and thank you very much
an edition (or set of signed and numbered prints) is a number of prints made from one plate. so, for example, if an artist is making a limited edition of prints they will make one plate and produce X amount of prints. numbering them as such: 1/100, 2/100, 3/100, etc. until 100/100. signing them allows for authentication. the closer the number on the print is to 1, the higher value it will have. so print 46/100 will typically go for more than 83/100. i hope that makes sense lol
Thank you and helpful!
I did wonder if it was fake name on one we have also. (at https://www.reddit.com/r/WhatIsThisPainting/comments/pk0fqo/dearmas_painting_who_is_artist/ )
