Bell Satellite Install

So my parents have a bell dish installed and they have the old LNB with two lines coming off each one and then there is about a 150 foot run to the house where there was a power inverter on the side of the house where all four plugged into the power and then ran inside. Well recently when the painters were pressure washing the house it stopped working and I thought maybe I could just hook up what I did for mine which was the Dish Pro plus DPP Twin LNB but then I seem to remember the installer saying the coaxial run was to long which was why he installed the powered Sw44 switch at the house. So I'm just asking for a run of 150 ft of coaxial do you really need the powered Sw44 switch or could I just eliminate it with Twin LnB?
