I’m building a battle box and i’d like to add something artifact centric that’s not explicitly based around affinity, but the newest decks i can seem to find are several years old at best. I don’t really care about the level of competitiveness, i’m more interested in unique but functional decks. The most interesting one i’ve found so far is metalcraft based around [[rusted relic]].

If you just want a fun artifact based deck, there's a Green/White metalcraft list that floats around in battleboxes fairly often. Based around Carapace Forger and Auriok Sunchaser, you get pump and fight spells and equipment and kind of go to town. It's strictly tier three, but very fun to balance around in a battlebox environment.
If you want true mono-brown things get a lot harder... self assembler Tron can be done, but with Expedition map getting the axe it might just be too durdly. You can also run some controlling elements though with Deserts/Quicksand, there are artifacts like bone flute that can give you some game in the side vs go wide decks, a couple of direct damage artifa t's like Moonglove extract. Probably still top out at Crusher. You actually have binders ornament to get some card advantage nowadays. Not sure if it's worth going for more ramp with Sisay's Ring etc. Or to just run a lot of smaller cantripping artifacts to get to Tron faster.
Then if you want really weird you can try Scrapyard Salvo. You'll be in probably a few colours, but you end up as a kind of turbo self mill deck playing a lot of eggs to fix mana and up your graveyard artifact count. You steal a few cues from Affinity in this one, but you're topping out on Salvo. Maybe Excavated wall and wall of forgotten pharaohs could add the defensive element? Again, definitely a tier three deck, but something unique for a battlebox.

Some of that certainly feels interesting enough to look into, thanks! I’m really interested in trying out this foundry combo. I’ve been tinkering with it and so far i have a control shell and [[crashing drawbridge]] to haste my infinite golems.

I mean, you can build one around [[Golem Foundry]] wich while not extremely competitive, is quite neat, like a robot factory.

The relic and the foundry both make me wish there were better splicers at common.
Ye but you can build a very nice deck with foundry but it would require a few coloured cards (to make the slow infinite factory work). Probably UR or UG. Maybe embrace golems and go flicker.
Well, [[battered golem]] and [[retraction helix]] are both common, and there’s plenty of cheerios to pick from. I think we may have a start here.

Ye, a friend and I reached that idea although he made it UR and mine was blue and a splash of something else, can't remember what. Yours looks more legit than what I remember from mine thought! Cool list
