The range on the camera is incredible, but obviously at 100x range they're not going to have high definition focus. Is there a way to sharpen images that I'm missing, other than installing a third party app?

Going to your gallery select the picture and go to the options once your picture is selection and try the remaster option it's hit or miss so good luck

Make sure the camera is completely still, use a tripod and voice commands. Other than that remastering and inbuilt editing will be your best bet.

I only see settings regarding cropping or color/lighting. Am I missing a feature to sharpen images?

Just get any edit app like snapseed lightroom or instagram and pump that sharpen up. Duh...

I mean I gathered that. I was wondering if there was a feature in the built in photo editor that I'm missing, hence the "without a third party app."

I have read that taking the picture at 30x with a tripod and then cropping it in gives best results !!
