Best Place to Find Horror

Hello r/movies. Sorry if this has already been covered I did a quick search but did not find enough of what I was looking for.

I am searching for the best streaming services/apps to watch all kinds of scary movies this season. I have YouTube Tv but do not want to watch censored movies on networks.

Also have Prime/Netflix/Hulu but none of them seem to have a range.

Hoping y’all can help.

Tubi has many older and B horror movies for free, has ads though.

Yea I saw they had a big selection. Never got around to it tho. Worth it?

I like it, but the ads can get annoying.

Yea Shudder is where you want to be. And watch Joe Bob Briggs. God among men.

Will give that a shot. Hopefully my TV or Xbox has an app for it.

One thing to be aware of about Shudder is that cancelling your subscription is not an easy process, if you're just looking for movies for Halloween. When I subscribed a couple years ago for Halloween, it took *months* to finally get them to cancel my subscription, because they don't (or, at least, didn't, at that time) have a way to cancel through their website. The experience was super frustrating and I'm not a fan, as a result.

One thing to look into: see what your public library has on offer. At my library, we have a service called Kanopy that lets you stream 10 movies per month, and includes an interesting range of contemporary and classic horror. Just popped in to make sure, and there's some great stuff on there, right now; Green Room, Timecrimes, Hereditary, The Witch, Triangle, Suspiria, Let the Right One In, A Girl Walks Home Alone At Night, Black Christmas, the Lighthouse... lots of good options, both mainstream and indie.

Thanks for the advice! I heard that about Shudder. Suppose I could always use a vanilla visa or something and let it ride out.

Never thought of the library before I’ll give that a shot too. Thanks!

Netflix has 3 new horror films Fear Street 1994, Fear Street 1978 & Fear Street 1666, they were pretty good.

Netflix is kinda crappy when it comes to horror I should warn. The Fear Street series is good but I’m reminded every Halloween how bare their selection is.

For Hulu/Netflix I've been pretty happy with anything by IFC, or anything not rated. Never watch anything PG-13.

Try peacock. Universal was always a studio know for horror.
