What are my privacy rights in the USA?
What are my rights to privacy as an emotes of any business. I know damn well that it is illegal for an employers to request an employees' medical information bc of HIPPA laws, but what are my rights in saying no to it? Is it like, a thing I can lie about? Is this even a question my employer can ask me? Is my employers allowed to ask me for a vaccination card. I tried searching but all the results are just "take it or else" and I want the actual lawful information and not some headline.
No I don't care about what they will do, bc m already sure they'll ask, but I'm getting a second seasonal job and I really would prefer to know what I do and don't have to give up to any potential employer about my medical history. As someone with a chronic illness, I have NEVER had to share a medical document with any employer before, and I've had a doctor tell me point blank that it is illegal for them to ask.
