Sentry went crazy last night.

I woke up this morning to a msg that Sentry mode was temporarily disabled due to an error. When I got in the car there was 431 Sentry recordings last night. I started viewing them.... and nothing. There is nothing on any of them. I do not know what was triggering it. Car is parked in my driveway, its 6 ft from front of car to the sidewalk, and 12 feet to the road. I saw no animals, people, birds etc. What the hell happened? Anyone else ever have this happen?

Is there a way to adjust sensitivity of sentry mode? I feel like that would be much needed

Was it windy by you? I get a shit ton whenever it's windy and branches start moving. Same with my doorbell camera.

Maybe. There is a hedge close by the car, I guess the wind could move it enough. I don't remember if it was windy last night. It was first time I have used Sentry at home. There have been some break ins in the area recently so I thought it would be a nice bit of extra security.

Another thing could be lights. The neighbor across the street from me backs into their driveway (as do I, so our cars face each other across the street), so when they get home at night, it sets off the sentry because the lighting changes significantly all of a sudden. They aren't home often, but the one time they did come home, I ended up having a bunch of sentry notifications. I don't know if sentry mode can be triggered by light or if just sensed my neighbor's vehicle, but it could be what triggered yours.

There have been several break-ins (or so I heard on NextDoor) in our area too, but I have a Blink camera facing down the driveway. My wife asked me to put one up when she saw someone walk up our driveway for no reason (she was power walking and she just likes to walk up and down people's driveways along her route). Might save you some battery and you'd get real time notifications.

Hmmm, my next door neighbor has a super bright light that covers the side of her house. it points toward the street and it is viewable in all the driver side cam videos. Maybe that is the culprit.

I am looking into home camera options, just thought that the Sentry would be good until then. I hope my neighbors across the street weren't bothered by the constant blinking headlights!

Same thing happened to me today. I left sentry mode on while parked at the gym and when I got back in the car, I had 38 sentry events. I watched each video to make sure and there was nothing happening in each one. It must be some kind of bug.

In a Parallel universe, your doppelgänger is trying get into your Model 3 and can't figure out why in the world the car won't let him unlock it.

Thats my guess... but what do I know 🤷🏽‍♂️

When I park outside at my residence, I normally wake up to 0-1 sentry events. Usually a neighbors cat or something.

One time I woke up to something like 250+. No idea why either. Has only happened once.
