$GIP is a Canadian green energy and waste management company, they're growing quickly and provide an economically viable solution to the climate crisis
TSX-V: GIP
Green Impact Partners is a Canadian company based in Vancouver, their focus is one green energy and waste management. They provide water, waste and solids disposal and recycling services in North America, anything that decomposes or can be ‘digested’ can be used to create energy.
They operate 8 water and solid waste treatment and recycling facilities. They also have a portfolio renewable natural gas and biofuel projects, serving customers in agriculture, forestry, government, midstream, public infrastructure, oil and gas production, potash and the utilities sector.
They recently announced a partnership with PCL Constructors Inc to develop a larger scale bio-fuel facility in Calgary, Alberta. The project is expected to be carbon negative, producing 300 million litres of ethanol, up to 2.5 million Btu of renewable natural gas and 2.3 million Btu of renewable natural gas with 2.3 million tonnes of carbon offset credits.
Capital costs for the project are projected at $475 million, with a really impressive $140 million estimated EBITDA once operational.
Their Q2 2021 results. Highlights:
- Go Public transaction closed on May 27, 2021, including the $100 million private placement financing
- Reported Revenue and Adjusted EBITDA of $27.1 million and $0.2 million, respectively. Revenue increased by $15.5 million, with Adjusted EBITDA down by $0.4 million, respectively, over the same period in 2021 because of downtime on facilities for planned improvements, public listing expenses and COVID-related costs to restart operations
- Commenced construction on the Company's first renewable natural gas project, with expected completion in the second half of 2022. The project has a total construction cost of $76 million, a forecasted run-rate EBITDA of $20 million and an equity payback of approximately three years
- Advanced and grew our portfolio of development projects, including one of North America's largest RNG facilities, which is a combination bio-fuel facility located in Calgary, Alberta
- Projected 2022 revenue and EBITDA: $221 million and $40 million
I think they are a pretty interesting ESG investment opportunity, renewable natural gas provides a much more immediate solution to our energy needs than hydrogen and solar power which require further advances in battery and solar panel technology to support or economies on a big scale.
This is not investment advice.
