Change in sound

Listening to her early btd/unreleased ultra pop and then listening to her most recent stuff is so wild because it’s like two completely different people. Each of her albums is very different and always have very unique themes and vibes, but it still always felt like the same story she was telling about her lovers just with differently themed instrumentals. Ever since NFR, her lyrical content is very different and she seems like a very different person now. (This isn’t criticism, just an observation) what inspired a total shift in her whole aura from pop/rock/jazz old Hollywood heroin chic, to Midwest small town simple folk music?
