Dosing moxy with a shit scale

Okay, so basically i have some moxy, but my scale is inconsistent, especially in smaller amounts. Sometimes even 30+ mg won’t show up. Can I volumetrically dose with water or would that be bad for the moxy? And the scale used to measure down to 10 mg accurately, does it just need to be calibrated (I have no idea how to do this, this is the first scale I’ve owned).
