Fake decentralized Games

I don't get it. "Why all games are making nfts" It started with Axie I guess . "Let's make a game, the game will have items, Also players can trade Items with game gold" - old times

"Let's make a game, And let's make all items nfs, and there will be only 10k of them, then let's hype it in social with cool arts. Then we will do a pre-sale of nft that have 0 current utility. And then we may make a game" - in the head of all P2E game CEOs

What really gets me is all the things in these projects/games are off chain and centralized. Except for the nfts of course. People say " you can actually own item in the game". really?? The game controls how the item will be rendered. "The meta data is on the chain" but the game controls how that data is used and guess what, the games the running on some centralized server firm owned by some company and they can change the game any time. I don't see how it and any different than the old centralized io games. I think the whole nft thing in gaming is a marketing gimmick, publicity scheme.

What pissses me off is that people are calling this dapps. Youtuber labeling this games as Decentralized.

This may sound like a rant. But if am here with an open mind to find whether there's any usefulness to this
