Understanding booking Live music in Austin

Hello Hello,

I was wanting to know what is a good rate to give to a band/artist for performing a 45 to an hour set. They have to bring their own equipment as well.

What are good ways to reaching out? Any recommendations of artist that would play at a smaller functions?

I am completely novice to this process so any help will be great.
