Thinking of dropping ROTC and doing OTS

So I'm a non-scholarship 200 cadet and a couple weeks ago, our cadre told us there's not going to be an ICSP this semester and it's uncertain in the spring. Because my chance of getting a scholarship is almost zero at this point, and PSP probably being around 50% again, I'm thinking doing OTS is just a better commissioning source at this point. Just do 8.5 weeks instead of 4 years of training and I'll basically be at the same spot. I'm not going rated or anything.

Really the only thing I'll miss if I leave is just the stipend and friends I made in the program I suppose? Then I can just focus on my academics.

I realize OTS is a lot more competitive to get accepted, and I do want to serve, but also it wouldn't be the end of the world for me if I didn't get selected, I'd just go on with my life and work a civilian engineering job.

I understand this subreddit might be biased, but I want to hear your thoughts
