[2225] first chapter of a Douglas Adams-esque mansion murder mystery
Hi ya'll,
So I've recently published a free novella (20K-ish), but before I go giving it any marketing pushes, I thought it might be a good idea to get the first chapter on here, just to make sure that the initial chapter is as polished as it can be.
The novella is called "The Heist & Crimes of Shackleton Manor". The main questions/areas of interest I have are as follows, however to be honest, any feedback of any kind is welcome.
- The first page – do the initial character intros grab you?
- The last page – does the inciting incident entice you to read on?
- Does the relationship between the two leads intrigue you?
- Does the banter land, specifically, is there any banter that doesn't land?
- Is there any proofing I've missed (please God say no).
The link to the first chapter is just here.
My critique is 2218.
Cheers!
