It’s insane that the 65 inch has it but not the 55. I got the L0721 update but ghosting still isn’t fixed. Come to find out that there’s another update that fully fixes the ghosting, but it’s only on the 65? What is that all about? Cmon Hisense, this isn’t cool.
Can anyone relate?

Not perfect solutions but hdmi 2.0 ports no issues. Only thing you'll sacrifice is Freesync.
not only has the ghosting issue not been resolved for the 55U8G, but they lied about the TV being 4k120hz native too.
Where did you read that its not native 4k120hz? Link plz, I'm literally about to purchase one for my PS5 and XSX but now you've got me stalling
avoid the 55U8G. it's not 4k120hz, its a blurred abomination of 120hz. it looks like forcing a 1080p image on a 55" display. it looks horrible and blurry even if it is running 120hz.

get the Aorus 43". It gets as bright, has as deep blacks, runs 4k144hz natively, priced around the same, and the motion is a lot clearer too. it also has less input latency and better colors in SDR and HDR too.
Where does rtings.com say that? I read the whole review and this is all they had to say about the 4k120hz resolution:
Update 09/08/2021: We double-checked to see if the Hisense U8G could display a 4k @ 120Hz signal properly. Unfortunately, like the Sony X85J, text is blurry with a 4k @ 120Hz signal, regardless of the settings used. 4k @ 60Hz is displayed properly.
thats exactly where. the text at 120hz at any resolution is blurry. it looks the same as switching the display on your pc to fullscreen 1080p.
in short, 4k120hz is not a feature that the 55U8G supports.
What about the U7G?
If I remember correctly, the 55 inch version doesn't have a seperate Tcon board, it is incorporated into the main board...flashing the Tcon is what fixed the 65 inch.
With this much time passing since the fix, it would appear that flashing the Tcon part of the main board is either...much more complicated, or not possible. Not good news either way for 55 inch owners.
Yeah it’s whatever man. The ghosting isn’t terrible or anything but I just have OCD.
It’s an elite TV minus the few technical issues it has.
I get what you’re saying, but you don’t have to put up with that if you’re OCD about it. Just return it. Or contact Hisense directly and see what they say. Also, I’ve had good luck with the Hisense Canada sub, even though I’m in the states.
Contact support, they’ve sent some people a copy of the upcoming firmware for the 55s that can be flashed over USB.
Already did that. It didn’t completely fix the issue. It kinda helped but didn’t completely fix it
