Skadi the Corrupting Heart’s interaction with every other operators in the game
Hey y’all! Skalter has arrived and as a buffer, she would improve everyone, indiscriminately too. And so in this post I’ll be listing out Skalter’s interaction with every other operator in the game. Obviously since there are roughly 200 operators on Global server right now, that’s a bit too much.
So I’ll only list special interactions that are either better or worse than expected. Anything that’s just “yea they can deal more damage or tank more”, I’ll just brush over it.
We are counting all 3 of her skills though, so there are still quite a lot. Let’s jump right into it.
- Actually before that though, I won’t cover these following operators: Suzuran, Shining, Nian, Saria, Blemishine, Click, Magallan, Mayers, Scene, Hellagur, Akafuyu, Vulcan, Mudrock. This is because u/Boelthor has already covered them in his Skalter guide here. (Shilling intensified). And also I won’t cover the CN ops (I think).
I will also summarize what Skalter can do here:
- Trait provide continuous regeneration base on her own ATK. This regeneration bypass "Cannot be healed by allies" trait such as Hellagur, Mudrock,... The trait also means that she can still provide regen to allies even when stunned (but that's not going to be relevant to ally interaction list unless you're using Conviction S2 but by then you've already ascended beyond my comprehension).
- Talent gives a summon that can go anywhere deployable, 25s duration, 30s redeploy time. This summon is basically Skalter, since it acts like an extension of her range, and thus, her buffs.
- S1 redirect half of the damage an ally in her range take to herself while also increasing her trait regen by a lot.
- S2 is a permanent buff of ATK and DEF and double her regen.
- S3 is a larger ATK buff, deal trues damage per second in her range, which can overlap with her summon (but that probably won’t count since this is interaction with other allies), but also replaces her healing trait with “losing 5% max HP per second” and last 20s. That is just enough time to kill herself in 1 cast.
Without further ado, let's go.
6*
Ash, Exu, Archetto, Rosa, Mostima, Ch’en, Schwarz, Hoshiguma, Eyjafjalla, Siege
These operators interact as expected with Skalter, either they have great multipliers to make use of the ATK buffs or have too much +ATK% and the effect from Skalter isn’t that noticeable. Basically nothing too notable other than “more stats”. Like, sure, Exu might hurt through some armor level now, but that's not really a unique Skalter+Exu thing, just Exu+buff/debuff things, basically.
Though, Ch’en and Siege can become a cornerstone-lite with Skalter S2.
Thorns, Mudrock, Mountain, Blaze (cornerstones)
Of all the cornerstones, Blaze is the one getting the most out of Skalter. Blaze attack up to 3 enemies at once, which means she has chances to use Skalt’s S2 buff up to 3 times. She also gains a permanent regen to sustain herself, something she doesn’t have before. Blaze and Mudrock also get DEF like a baseline Hoshi with it as well.
Cornerstones is already auto-pilot mode, Skalter being auto just make it more auto-pilot.
playing AK with Cornerstones and Skalter S2
Kal’tsit
Kal’tsit get a lot of benefits from Skalter in many different ways. First, her base ATK is much lower than most other ST Medic, so Skalter can raise that up to at least be decent.
Second, Kal’tsit has a fast-redeploy summon that can go anywhere deployable. Skalter also has a summon that can go anywhere. So in conjunction with Mon3tr, their presence is nearly everywhere as long as you can find 2 tiles that touch each other (even diagonally).
Third, Mon3tr outside of Kal’s range will not get any DEF buff from Skalter, however, the regen will still works. It also has an ability to hit up to 3 enemies at once, further amplify Skalter’s buff. Or if you use both of their S3, that’s a lot of true damage in a localised area, and if Mon3tr is outside of Kal’s range, then she is free to heal Skalter during her S3, so that Skalter doesn’t kill herself.
Gladiia
Gladiia has 1 dishonorable mention that is really important: Skalter is NOT an Abyssal Hunter, and therefore will not get the 1.5/2.5% max HP regen. Therefore you cannot use it to keep Skalter alive during her S3.
The rest of her kit interact as usual though. Gladiia S1 could be decent to become a cornerstone skill as well.
Passenger
Dude’s life is saved by the presence of Skalter. His S3 is an Attack Multiplier and it deals damage every 0.5s, it can make a very good use of either Skalt’s S2 or S3. His SP problem is still sad though.
Dusk
AoE unit tend to be able to apply Skalter’s buff multiple times. Dusk in particular can make use of it with all 3 of her skills, with S1 having high Attack Multiplier, S2 hit true AoE in 3x4 range, and S3 spawn Freelings which Skalter can buff, and regen HP, as well. That makes it so that when Dusk S3 is active with Skalter S2 (or S1), enemies are going to be stuck there for quite a long time.
Saga
Saga has S2 for high ATK Multiplier (the skill needs good damage to 1-shot/get the killing blow), and S3 for attacking 2 targets.
DEF buff is great for surviving without relying on Saga’s 2nd talent too, which is more significant that it sounds, because then Saga can be used to open the map followed by Skalter, takes a lot of fighting, uses her talent, and then by the time her regen talent is finished, Skalter will finish charging up her S2 and now Saga is less worried about losing her 1-time-use 2nd talent.
Rosmontis
Ros need ATK to bypass armor, and with her aftershock only dealing half damage, that’s a lot of value from Skalter S2 or S3. Her S3 is amazing, and I don’t think I need to tell you why (cuz like I explained with Exu, just typical stuff).
Skalter S2 can also buff the Equipment’s DEF, but not being able to provide regen.
Skalter’s S1 damage split will fully work on the Equipments, so it can be great for letting Rosmontis utilises the whole duration of S3 against even hard-hitting enemies. And both Ros S3 and Skalter S1 last 30s, so it perfectly matches. Do remember that the regen can’t work on the Wall though.
Her S2 deal 4 hits with 1 deal full damage and 3 deals the half damage, but I don’t consider this a DPS skill more than a Crowd-Control skill. But with Skalt, it could be a good DPS skill.
S1 benefits just as expected.
Surtr
Surtr’s S1 and S2 benefit from Skalter as expected.
Surtr’s S3, however, benefit from Skalter in a round-a-bout way. She already has +330% ATK from her S3, so a meager +200~400 ATK from that doesn’t even feel notable, even if Surtr hits 4 enemies.
What Skalter gives Surtr the most, is the resurgence of the old “Surtr + medic” meme. Skalter S2 improves the medics by quite a margin, and effectively cut the number of medics needed to sustain Surtr S3 permanently down to like half with just the main cast of Ptilopsis, Warfarin, Saria, Nearl, and Silence. The future medic Mulberry is also really great with one of the best medic-base sustain HPS in the game.
Eunectes
Eunectes is the first to properly benefit from Skalter S1.
When Eunectes’ S3 and Skalter S1 is up, nothing in the game can kill Eunectes other than Patriot (kinda) and the force retreat skill like FrostNova and Emperor’s Blade.
https://i.redd.it/bk1xad670ow71.gif
Here's a better take at this duo, completely tank Patriot and let Eune solo him entirely
Weedy
Weedy’s cannon does not get buffed by Skalter! This is rigged!
Weedy S2 can actually become a decent cornerstone with Skalter S2, mainly due to the DEF and regen buff.
W
All skills benefit from Skalter as expected.
Skalter S2 though, might make W unkillable, with 60% evasion, extra DEF, and regen. (Definitelly didn’t have W dying on me on critical moment before after losing the RNGesus bet haha)
Phantom
As said, fast redeploy benefits from Skalter quite a lot. As long as you find 2 tiles, maybe even 3 tiles for Phantom’s clone specifically, it’s a great global presence.
Phantom in particular benefits a lot from Skalter S2. Extra ATK let him kill enemies with less attacks, saving more S2 stacks, and extra DEF/regen allows him (and his clone) to actually survive long enough to release all S2 stacks.
Bagpipe
You may think her S3 benefits a little less from Skalter because the skill already gives +120% ATK and DEF, however, the nature of her 3-hits per attack makes it fairly decent, so don’t think Skalter doesn’t help Bagpipe much.
S2 can actually be a cornerstone-lite with Skalter's S2 as well.
Ceobe
A half-dishonorable mention: Skalter's summon will disable Ceobe's talent! If you want to buff her remotely, put the summon on the diagonal tile, whenever possible. Though, I think most of the time that Ceobe's talent is probably not activating already.
Skills benefits as expected.
Aak
Another round-a-bout benefits. Skalter’s S2 actually gives a lot of squishier ops the ability to survive Aak’s S2 and S3, making the skill less of a meme, especially the ranged ops if it’s used in conjunction with Shining’s talent.
Skalter also keep Aak alive much easier because of strong S2 regen.
SilverAsh
SilverAsh actually get 1 dishonorable mention. His S3 -DEF penalty is applied after DEF buff, which means Skalter’s S2 DEF buff is reduced. It also gives him +200% ATK already, so the ATK buff from Skalter is less noticeable.
However, SA’s talent does affect the redeploy time of her summon, reducing it by 10%. And SA’s helidropping shenanigan is assisted, however little, by her Summons, which can follow him almost anywhere on the map.
Nightingale
Skalter can sustain Nightingale’s cage quite well, making it last significantly longer. The rest, however, interacts as expected.
Angelina
Ange S2 benefits as expected, especially since it’s an Attack Multiplier.
Ange S3 lasts as long as Skalter’s summon (just a thought, really).
Ange can regen in Skalter’s S3 and stop her from killing herself. Just any tick of healing and it is enough to let Skalter survive (she loses exactly 100% of her HP over 20s, so any amount of HP given will make it not 0 at the end of Skalter’s S3)
Ifrit
Skalter can help Ifrit sustain from her S3’s HP loss. Ironic, she can save others from death, but not herself.
----------------------------------------------------------
5*
- Toddifons, Heavyrain, Tachanka, Cooler Lava, Tuye, Iris, Aosta, Flint, Tomimi, Andreana, Ayerscarpe, Folinic, Leonhardt, Absinthe, Asbestos, Elysium, Sideroca, Sesa, Leizi, Hung, Snowsant, Greythroat, Reed, Ceylon, Flamebringer, Breeze, Executor, Astesia, Glaucus, Grani, Istina, Pramanix, Cliffheart, Firewatch (ahem*cough*), Provence, Croissant, Nearl, Silence, Skyfire, Meteorite, Platinum, Blue Poison, Lappland, Indra, Zima, Ptilopsis
(the list is too long for me to just make it into a header lul)
These ops get simply the stats buff from Skalter.
Amiya
Guardmiya S2 gets more chances to land a killing blow because she gets more damage, but it can only be used once anyway. Skalter S3 can add in the True Damage fiesta though.
Castmiya benefits as expected, but it’s Amiya so I won’t lump her in the “as expected” category because m c p r i v i l e d g e.
Frost + Robin
Trappers have low base ATK but high attack rate. This make them benefits more from Skalter’s buff than some others. Their traps also deal damage base on their ATK, which means Skalter can buff the trap damage indirectly, further improves their global presence.
Frost in particular also benefits even more, with a triple attack when an enemy trigger the S2 trap in her range. So now her traps deal more damage, and she herself deals more damage with basic attack, and she can burst with S2 trap as well.
Blitz
Blitz has no real defensive skills other than his stun, so Skalter’s DEF buff does matter a bit to warrant not putting him in the “as expected” section. Blitz also has quite an amazing DPS with his S2 that does benefit a lot from Skalter’s buff.
Mr. Nothing + Jaye (4* though)
They are sorta fast-redeploy as well, which means whatever is in the Phantom section can be reused here. Skalter’s summon can follow them and assist them in their assassination. Their redeployment time also match much more closely than actual Fast-redeploy too. (Skalter’s summon’s redeploy time is 30s, Nothing/Jaye’s is 25s)
Mr. Nothing benefits as expected from Skalter. Jaye get to ensure his skill is activated and can possibly punch through armor better for even more self healing.
Kafka + Projekt Red + Waai Fu + Gravel (4*)
Again, the benefit of being fast redeploy, global presence and get to be assisted because of Skalter’s summon.
- Kafka technically get used only to sleep, but her S2 can hurt quite nicely now.
- Red get to survive longer to assassinate with S1. S2 actually doesn’t get much benefits because of its instant-effect, which would waste the summon if you use it. Same as Waai Fu S2 and Phantom S3
- Gravel can already survive with her skill quite well, which means she can already do her c*blocking job quite well, so she gets little benefits from Skalter. Skalter S1 and Gravel S2 can be a real annoyance to the blocked enemy though.
Whislash + Swire
Technically, they should be in “as expected” section. But spoiler alert, in the future, they get a module that let them deal more damage to non-blocked enemies and it’s an Attack Scale. They also have high attack rate, and a really good base DEF that could let them tank with Skalter S2.
Whislash also acts as an AoE Guard with her S2, and that benefits a lot from Skalter, as you will see soon, or can already guessed.
April
As a fast redeploy (ish), once again Skalter benefits their global presence with her summon.
April already has a good defensive buff of Camouflage with her skill, so the DEF buff might not matter that much. But what’s great is that the summon lasts 25s, while April skills last 26s, almost in sync.
April’s redeploy time is a little bit longer than the summon’s too, so the summon is always ready when April is.
Mint + Beeswax
Skills affect as expected. However, Skalter S2 actually let these aura casters benefits from the defensive buffs quite nicely, in the sense that, now they don’t really “lose” their defensive trait while using their skills, which is pretty good. Both of their skill usually last around 25s as well, which kinda in sync with Skalter’s summon, if the need arise.
Beeswax’s Obelisk doesn’t get the regen from Skalter. However, like Ros’ wall, it does get the DEF buff. Obelisk can also benefit from Skalter S1 by reducing half the damage. So depends on the enemies that you’re trying to block, both S1 and S2 can benefit the Obelisk, and thus, benefits Beeswax.
Mint’s DEF buff from her talent does increase the buff that Skalter gives, but just by a small amount.
Chiave + Texas + Scavenger (4*)
Technically, they should have been in “as expected” because they don’t get a real special interaction. However, the DEF buff pushes them from “squishy vanguard” to roughly below DPS/Healing Defender, which is very significant because they are squishy af by themselves normally.
Scavenger has the same talent as Ceobe, so remember to put them (maybe the summon as well) diagonally/far apart if possible.
Tsukinogi
Tsukinogi’s talent does work with Skalter S1, both for the ally and for Skalter herself. Pretty much no one would die when Skalter S1 and Tsuki S2 is on them, unless it’s 1-shot from above 55-65% HP, even with Skalter S1.
Note: the enemy deal damage → ally take x damage → reduced by Tsukinogi's Shelter if fit the criteria → split half to Skalter
Shamare
Her S2 -ATK debuff in conjunction with Skalter +DEF buff would make enemies deal like no damage, and her S2 -DEF debuff in conjunction with Skalter +ATK buff would make your allies deal a lot more damage than before, especially for those low ATK allies.
Bibeak
Bibeak S1 (especially M3) with Skalter S2 might just be a legit cornerstone with a much higher sustain DPS that can now actually punch through armor, a DEF buff which dualstrike sorta lacks, and a great sustain like all other cornerstones.
Broca + Specter + Savage + Estelle (4*)
As u/Boelthor explained, AoE Guard benefits a lot more from Skalter, because now, they have DEF like a defender, a permanent regen, and a lot more ATK to abuse with their trait.
All of them can even become a cornerstone-lite as well. Special mention to Savage, whose S1 is an Attack multiplier which stack multiplicatively with the ATK buff.
Specter is an Abyssal, which gives Skalter a lot more ATK buff from her first talent, which in turns give back more ATK buff and regen to Specter.
Nightmare
The real loser of the entire Skalter’s synergy list. Nightmare get no real benefits from Skalter, regardless of skill.
Her S1 technically benefits because it heals base on damage dealt, but Nightmare S1 is already a good healing skill, especially at S1M1+. Its weaknesses are “needing enemies to heal” and “bad SP cost”, none of which Skalter can fix. You can say “yea but Nightmare’s evasion talent when equipping S1” but then W does that much better, and for those that don’t have W, just don’t try this strat then, or bring Durin/12F.
Her S2 deal true damage base on distance move, yet it slows enemies and has auto-activation, so it is easily wasted. Again, none of those can be fixed with Skalter.
FEater + Shaw (4*)
Technically AoE Guards, so just go up 2 sections
Manticore + Ethan (4*)
As Stalker Specialists, they can deal true AoE damage, so it is sorta like AoE guards. However, their placement tends to be in front of the front line, so it is actually quite awkward with Skalter’s limited surrounding range. This is fixed with Skalter’s summon, but it still means that they don’t get to benefits from Skalter all the time. You’d need a bit of a team rework if you want them to be taking Skadi buff all the time.
Sora
It's not as bad as you'd think.
Sora uses the same Inspire buff as Skalter, which means their buff don’t stack. Skalter S2 activate permanently so Sora won’t be used much here unless she’s used in a different part of the map than Skalter. The thing is, Sora S2 has 45SP cost downtime and 30s duration and cost 1 deploy slot, while Skalter’s summon has 25s duration, and 30s downtime, and no deploy slot at all. Even if you want to buff a different part of the map, Skalter is still better with her summon. Not to mention Sora only buff ATK, while Skalter also buffs DEF, and has more regen, and Skalter’s own buff is only a little less than Sora’s. Technically, if Sora’s talent activated, she has less downtime than Skalter’s summon, but it’s not reliable.
However, you can still use Sora S2 to buff in place of Skalter’s S3 downtime. Sora’s own heal also keep Skalter alive during S3. Then you can have Sora S2 running while waiting for Skalter’s S3 to be ready again, alternating between them.
Sora S1 can still be used, but it’s an AoE sleep, and aside from Blemishine and the “X Nuke” meme, it’s not that nice.
Liskarm
Liskarm’s main drawbacks is that her S1 isn’t reliable as a defensive skill. With extra DEF from Skalter S2, the auto activation might not matter that much.
Liskarm S2 is sorta like AoE Guard (even hit up to 4 enemies), can hit drones, has decent range, and has the free bulk of a defender already built-in. So it’s worth a mention.
Warfarin
Almost in “as expected” section. But Skalter can spread’s Warfarin single-target buff into an AoE, a case worth thinking about, when you want to buff multiple people at once instead of just one unit.
Franka
Sorta dishonorable mention because her DEF is set to 0 with her S2, so Skalter can’t address that. Some healing and ATK are nice though.
------------------------------------------------------------------
4*
- Pinecone, Jackie, Bubble, Arene, Aciddrop, Podenco, Cutter, Conviction, Purestream, Ambriel, May, Vermeil, Myrtle, Greyy, Sussuro, Gummy, Cuora, Matterhorn, Perfumer, Gavial, Myrrh, Rope, Vigna, Courier, Shirayuki, Meteor, Jessica, Gitano.
These guys interact with Skalter as expected.
Beanstalk
Beanstalk deals a lot of multiplier damage to enemy blocked by her crab, so giving her more ATK is strong. But the main benefit is that her crabs do get the stats buff and regen from Skalter, which let it does its job much better.
Dur-nar
Dur-nar really appreciates the DEF buffs from Skalter, given that she has no DEF up skills. Not sure if she really needs it but yea, now Asbestos’ own DEF up with S2 loses a bit of its flavor, only having the range left as a unique thing.
Beehunter
Ora ora ora ora ora ora ora ora ora
Earthspirit
Still dogshit, sorry not sorry.
Mousse
Mousse is really great with Skalter the same way Shamare is great with Skalter. She has a really strong -ATK debuff and Skalter giving her +DEF means that she’ll take no damage from whoever she’s dueling with. Unlike Shamare though, she only gives a single target debuff.
Frostleaf
For someone with not much damage, Skalter would benefits her. However this is sorta a dishonorable mention because even though Frostleaf gains a fair amount of ATK from Skalter, it’s still not that strong (also because the 80% penalty to Ranged Guard is still applied after the ATK buff).
Matoimaru
Like Franka, her DEF is set to 0 with S2 active. Unlike Franka, however, Matoimaru has a bigass HP pool, which means Skalter healing actually does matter here, and in fact, flipped the tier around and make Skalter actually a good pair with this demon girl. Because if the healing is good enough to let Matoi survive that 10s duration of S2, it's already enough, once it's over, she get some good DEF again.
Dobermann
Still shit, even with the module (since it’s not the damage module that the 5* Support Guard get). The new CN trait still let her deal 120% damage every attack though. But it’s not like Whislash where she might get decent buff.
Haze
Maybe the DEF and regen buff would allow her to survive during S2? Actually no, the HP pool is just that bad. The damage part is decently used though, so it’s a half dishonorable mention.
------------------------------------------------------------------------
3*
You may think it’s an easy skip because everyone just gets to use Skalter’s stats buff. But not all of them
All 3* get a stats buff that is equal to 6* E2 max or around that
Spot get stats like a Saria without talent. Popukar is like Blaze. Midnight is like Thorns. And so on. Skalter is almost the best friend for a 3* only account (wait no, if it’s a 3* only account they wouldn’t use Skalter, dammit). She improves 3* to that of an E2 6*, and those stats buff are actually huge on them.
Just look at this video, and then look at part 2 of it (the list on the right side) where they remove even more ops from part 1. (Skalter + 3* in 5-10 CM)
2*
Same as 3*, their relatively low stats make Skalter’s stats buff huge on them.
- Ranger now deal 847 damage per attack to drones with Skalter maxed S2M3. That’s like a 5* AA Snipers DPS.
- Noir Corne has about 510 DEF before his talent, just slightly below maxed Dur-nar, for only 14 DP cost.
- 12F and Durin can do the ranged tank thingy I said in the W section with their evasion talent and the regen buff from Skalter.
- Yato is sorta a Fast-Redeploy, so you know the drill by now.
-----------------------------------------------------
1* (Robot)
Boelthor needs spaces in his guide so this section is here now (updated 31/10/2021).
The 1* robot has the quirks of ignoring deploy slot, which means they are basically free operators, but consume a squad slot.
All of them also has really low stats, so you also know the drills by now
Lancet get amazing attack that can turn her into a roughly 3* ST Medic, and free of deployment slot. If using Skalter S3, Lancet also get to heal Skalter, and Lancet's own heal also become actually respectable.
Castle get to use both the DEF and ATK from Skalter S2, plus his own on deploy effect, technically a free slot to deal with dog rush, but dog rush happen way too early for Skalter to be able to do much. So I think he can be just a cheap sidelane holder if Skalter can reach him.
THRM-EX got a much better attack to explode with, and given that he also inflicts Fragile, which does affect his explosion, that's pretty good. Oh and of course since Skalter has a summon that can go anywhere, she can follow THRM too.
-----------------------------------------------------
So that should be all of the most notable effect that Skalter gives to operators. Let me know what you think, and if there's any hidden interaction I've missed.
