Football is life! Happy to see this actor in more things. Really excited for this game and this trailer was pretty good but they did a lot of big panning shots for most of them to look pretty fake.

For people that don't know, the driver is one of the characters in the show Ted Lasso. It's a great show.
Mexico is a great location but when will they do Japan? That would be AMAZING for a forza horizon game!
It'd just end up being a bunch of mountains.
Tokyo is dumb huge though. Could seriously see an urban focus, too.
I was thinking that earlier actually. Forza Horizon set in Toyko with a huge focus on street racing, a pink slip system, no wheelspins (or at least none until the end-game) and you have to actually race to get new cars and stuff for the main campaign. I'd love that.
Maybe even a class of cars specifically meant for significant visual body/wheel/spoiler etc. customization like NFS.
Highly doubt it as that doesn’t sound like Horizon series at all. Unless Playground games make a different Forza Series, I think Japan will not happen anytime soon.
I mean I'd rather have that in NFS as that's more that games style. That's not Forza Horizon style at all
That sounds like a fun game but not Forza Horizon. I have 0 interest in grinding through the game to get to drive the car I want. One of my favorite things about Forza Horizon is that it is relatively easy to get whatever car I want and take part in any event I want to.

I can see literally anyone else making that but Playground Games
Make a drift special/focus, underglow/tuning scene focus in that horizon. Would be dope af.
So far every city in a Horizon game has sucked as a location. It's a bunch of 90 degree turns and damn near impossible to race in.
Wut? Japan got waterfalls, onsen hotsprings, desert, volcanos, forrests, sprawling highway, huge urban centers, temples, underground caves etc. etc. Seasons can also play a bigger part with snow and cherry blossoms. Not to mention they can integrate unique cultural characteristics of Japan. NPCs can look a lot more different compared to just the blokes in trousers and sweatshirts like in Great Britain. The Horizon Festival can incorporate Japanese lanterns and whatnot.
This and this doesn't look like just "a bunch of mountains"
You do realize they don't just hop on google maps and just screencap a section to recreate? Horizon maps are a combination of famous landmarks to create a diverse map. A Japan map can't be worse than a UK or Mexico map especially since it won't be held back by last gen consoles. It's as good as a location than yet another Euro country.
Saving that to pull people back in when they see a drop in sales due to fatigue, I'd bet. Just like Assassin's Creed
Sadly for Ubi/AC they got beaten by Sucker Punch who made a better Japanese AC game than they could, and pretty much perfected the Ubisoft Formula too.
By the time AC heads to Japan I think GoT2 will have come out with the amazing AC-style ninja/samurai mechanics and theme of the first game with a better open-world that is more unique and less like Ubi's style.
Not to say both can't co-exist, especially because one is console exclusive, but still, it'll be less of a "holy shit!!" moment because well, we've seen it done really well already.
Ghost of Tsushima was more about large open spaces. I think Ubisoft would have a greater amount of success centering the game around a more urban city like Edo, which was FUCKING HUGE.
The Bakumatsu would be the perfect setting for an AC game.
Damn, hadn't thought about that actually. I don't mind the new AC direction but it's very hard to imagine Ubi topping what GoT achieved. I wonder if it caused any delays / holds on a Japan-setting project because it has been on the cards for some time.
Yeah I agee

Hong Kong is very cool as well! I loved driving around in Sleeping Dogs. The only funny thing about that was that the real Victoria Peak is waaaaaay higher than any of the buildings on the island but I don't think they wanted to make it that high in the game haha.
Damnit it dude! Why would you mention a game that looks this cool? It doesn't come out for another YEAR! :(

Except it never drove remotely as good and the second game was a pile of mediocre butt that scaled down on half of the good stuff of the first one. Then it died.
Meanwhile horizon had 4 successful games.
Geez, why does the open world racing game with diverse locations with offroad opportunities and generally high speeds for going across the map not do the place where automobile infrastructure is found in dense, high traffic urban areas and tight touges, I wonder.
Seriously, what indicates it'd be amazing? Is this just a "Place vs Place (Japan)" thing? I mean BRUH, just look up "[previous horizon setting country] roads" on google images and then "japanese roads"
Japan has a fairly diverse road set. You could have city streets, wide open highways, mountain climbs, and country roads. In fact the season system they put in for the last game would work great in Japan too. Imagine how spring would look with the cherry blossoms. This isn't meant to be an attack on Mexico as the setting. As I said, I was very happy with that choice too. I just think that the terrain and the unique car culture of Japan would make for a great setting as well. I hope that's the next game.

Can't wait to deliver some Tofu in Forza.
It will happen, and I'm glad they've held off. Building Japan specifically for the new gen will be insane.
Omg yes. Then i can play japanese jazz and drive the ocean side. Im think katsumi horii project, or some masayoshi takanaka. Or even better ima just drive to the ocean irl and drive around
I want to drive a 1987 Toyota mr2 around Tokyo at sunset, listening to this
Sounds dreamy.
I uh was listening to this
Specifically the 3rd and 4th track. Whilst dancing at the beach waiting for the sunset. Before speeding off after the sun had set!
I honestly would like way more to see a Forza Horizon that has Switzerland as location.
That would be really cool as well, although does Switzerland have a good diversity of terrain and road types?
Not sure about diversity, but it has maybe the most spectacular landscapes in the world that you can drive nearby. Imagine so many mountain roads, beautiful villages / cities with green / blue lakes nearby.
That does sound pretty awesome. I lived in Bavaria for 7 years. I bet it looks just like that. I never got around to visiting Switzerland.

Don't get me wrong, I LOVE Mexico. I was extremely pleasantly surprised when it was announced because I hadn't even considered that as a possibility. I've just been wanting the next Forza Horizon to be Japan since 2.
It's probably being kept behind glass with a sign that says "Break Glass to revive franchise". Since the franchise is very healthy right now, I doubt we'll see it anytime soon.
after motorsport 8, you can't do japan's huge amount of buildings justice when ur game needs to run on a hardware made in 2012 targeting 900p 25-30fps
Horizon isn't about huge amounts of buildings, so why would they start? Japan is more than Tokyo.
Bro forza doesnt listen to it’s players anymore... it’s become this corporate watered down, casual game for everyone, and they design it to be as easy as possible. Big streets with little to no handling required. No good progression for what’s seeming like 4 games since fh1. No real story. No tight tracks with small roads and many sharp turns actually requiring handling skill.
And of course no Tokyo.
It’s all ushering in a money milking gaas system for them
casual game for everyone
Forza was always this.
I lo e the idea of horizon games but always get bored with the pretty quickly.. Hope this one is more interesting
