Americans of Reddit. How do you, as an American, feel when Americans criticize America vs non-Americans?

If non Americans criticize us idc but when they tell us we should vote for this or that president then I care I get your opinion but if I live in the country you don’t so don’t say this is a far better president and we’re stupid if we don’t vote for that specific president

But for other Americans fair criticism they live in the country therefore 1st A to them

Everyone is entitled to their opinion. Unfortunately there are those who believe that their opinion is the only correct one and others are not, rather than accepting that differing viewpoints exist. Every thought we have is based on personal knowledge and experience. We don’t all know the same things, read the same articles, get the same educational experiences, or even think the same. So when criticisms are made regarding my country, I take it in stride.

I usually see Americans complain how bad they have it here but don't realize how bad it is out there until they go and find out for themselves.

As for non Americans when they have criticisms I find it interesting but the fact that American culture is and has been what other countries want and try to follow.

I feel everyone should express their criticisms as long as it doesn't cause harm or death.

I honestly don’t give a damn when someone criticizes America. I’m at the age where I couldn’t care less about other peoples opinions.

I honestly don't really care that much. Anyone who has lived here for any length of time knows that loathing of America or of (usually) political groups of Americans is our favorite pastime. If it was such a hell hole people would be clamouring to get out, not in. America is what it is. Some parts of it I absolutely love, some parts of it I absolutely hate, but when it comes down to it, this is the only place on Earth where I have any chance to live the life I do. But hey, criticize away, we all do, and maybe in all that criticism there will be a good idea that will actually make things better.
