How to deal with bad luck?

I would post in the Mahjong Soul subreddit (not sure if Sega Net MJ has one), but I figured this more or less applies to mahjong in general, so it should probably go here. How do you guys generally deal with bad luck? I feel like I've had a dark cloud hanging over my head for the past few days and it seems like I can't shake it off. Just some examples of stuff I've encountered recently:

- 1 tile away from tenpai with a Baiman hand 2 turns in and someone declares ron off me on my next discard (basically screws me out of this hand just to end the round quickly for 1,000 points, ouch)

- 2 tiles away from a Kokushi Musou (if you ever have an opportunity to go for this, you try it) and stayed 2 tiles away for the entire round, ended in noten, and had to pay 3,000 for a penalty since everyone else was in tenpai

- someone is waiting on a 6 bamboo (didn't know this at the time), east player discards a 6 bamboo, but it goes ignored (you can see someone thinking about it, but I just thought a pon/chi was coming), so I discard a 6 bamboo and another player declares ron just to bump me out of 2nd place (he was 4th) by a little over 2,000 points (why he SPECIFICALLY waited to hit me, I don't know, it's not like either of us were dealer...)

- multiple instances where I constantly pull an unsafe tile nobody has dealt yet and I have 3 or 4 options to try and keep my hand to get closer to tenpai, but I always deal right into someone's hand (this has happened so many times lately and it feels like the absolute worst thing plaguing my games right now)

So yeah, I'm just kind of at my wit's end here and don't know what to do or how to deal with this. Do I just stop playing for a few months and come back, and hope the voodoo has worn off or what? I just tried participating in a tournament earlier tonight and lost 3 matches in the qualifiers, in a row, because of the last point posted above. I always found myself in situations where seemingly nobody had dealt X tile yet, for whatever reason, so I was left to try and force it through to see if it was safe or not.

I'm just so tired of being the one to take these risks to see if something is safe. Why does this keep happening to me? Some nights, people deal into my hand repeatedly and I just win consistently, but those nights don't really stick with me as much as the losing streaks do, ya know? Anyway! I know I'm just rambling here, but if anyone can share some tips on how they shake off their demons and whatnot, let me know.

I kinda feel like I'm fighting against an unknown force that I have no way of winning against because it predetermines my losses or something, lol. So yeah, I'm kind of at a loss as to where to go from here. Also, I've been playing since high school (not sure if that matters, but figured I'd include that anyway, just in case), so a good 15 years or so, give or take.
