BACKLOG STATUS?

I'm forced to try and get a Urgent Travel appointment. I'm going to go to my home state Vermont's agency hoping its easier to get an appointment there. Anyone tell me if they've been making any progress clearing the backlog from summer? I can't make the appointment for another week unfortunately.
