HELP NEW SSV: I left the safe open over night Im afraid I’ll be losing my job.
Will I loose my job. I’ve been a partner for 2 years I rarely call out , cover shifts, I’m always half an hour early. I just recently got promoted maybe less than 2 months. I left the safe open over night. Will I get fired?

I had an SSV do that at our store. The cops didn’t show up and my SM just told her not to do it again. I’ve left the dtw unlocked at close before. We all make mistakes!
Yeah I’m hoping I get a talk since I’m still new :(. By far biggest mistake I’ve made I don’t normally miss that either.
Yeah I wouldn’t stress about it too much!! As long as the cops didn’t show up it’s truly not a huge deal. And believe me you’d def know if the cops showed up. The safe company would’ve called your SM too if they were detecting and issue. We have a safe wizard 1 and we were fine. I think the safe wizard 2’s are more sensitive
I guess it was the morning shift that told my GM that it was left open
Hey, I became a shift in January and a couple months ago I left the deposit bag outside the safe overnight. I got a warning. Obviously it made me more careful about it but you should normally get a warning about something before it becomes a write up. And like a lot of things, three write ups and you’re out. But right now just live and learn and don’t worry about it anymore than being more careful it shuts properly. Sometimes they don’t shut right the first time so double check. Congrats on the promo by the way
Yeah :( it honestly does come down to SM discretion but in my opinion(as long as you are in good standing) you’ll be fine it’s an honest mistake
If you haven’t already tell your SM. Explain the error. Try to come up with a solution to prevent this in the future. It also looks good if you ask your SM how they ensure they don’t forget anything. People make mistakes, but it’s more important to understand why and what you’ll do in the future to prevent it.
For me, before I walked out of the store, I’d say to myself; safe, alarm, food. For me these were the must do items. All others are important, but could be completed in the morning if forgotten.
When I was a shift I locked my keys in the store during a trash run. The guy who owned a pizza place across the street broke us back in and I didn’t hear a thing. You’ll be fine.
If 1 penny is missing, I’d be concerned
Plus in this job climate SB should start taking care of their good and faithful employees… hiring right now and going through resumes has been nothing short of amusing and more often than not, pretty darn shocking!!
