Burn my soul, needy peasants, the lot of them!
tEotW Ch3:
[BOOKS]>!”A good thing, too,” Perrin said. “The Dragon going to save us? Sounds like Coplin talk to me.”!<
!“What kind of need would be great enough that we’d want the Dragon to save us from it?” Rand mused. “As well ask for help from the Dark One.”!<
!“He didn’t say,” Mat replied uncomfortably. “And he didn’t mention any new Age of Legends. He said the world would be torn apart by the Dragon’s coming.”!<
!“That would surely save us,” Perrin said dryly. “Another Breaking.”!<
Aye, what need could be great enough?
Bah, peasants! Probably think they might need more rain or some such. Don’t they have bowls they can fill from the stream to water their fields? They would probably circle round the hearth and tell each other a story about it – or seven. Or six. Don’t they have a Wisdom? What do they call it? Wind finding? Hearing the wind? Pshaw.
As for help from the Dark One, more likely one would get a spear in the ribs. And to add insult to injury, some pedlar might cut the scar with a knife. So much for help, best the pedlars and Dark One all be sealed away, then they can occupy each other.
And of course there will be another Breaking, it’s not as though some wisdom will learn on a farm that saidin and saidar cannot mix, whether calling for a few drops of rain or providing a conduit for all the taint of saidin to flow into some cesspit.
Speaking of cesspits, no doubt all you riffraff find these quaint tales of peasants in the backwaters of Andor quite illuminating, even when the Creator adds details that are quite . . . needless.

Weiramon, you light-blinded fool! Your arrogance knows no bounds, and you’ll soon be the death of us all. Charging about on your Tairen nag, waving your sword like a loon, and rousing this rabble.
