Question about external monitor
I'm looking at buying the 9510 with a 3050 gpu. I have seen that before that using a external monitor made it so you could only use the igpu. Is this still the case on the new 2021 model for the dell xps 15?

No. In the BIOS you can set it so that external monitors are directly run by the dGPU.
Any information on where that option is? I cycled through all of the sub-menus in the Advanced BIOS setup and don't see any option for forcing external displays to the dGPU.
Display>direct graphics controller direct output mode>swiths it on
The only options I have under Display are 'Touchscreen' and ' Full Screen Logo'?
Edit: Yeah, that option is not available on the XPS15, only the 17 seems to support that.
Hey, would you mind giving a quick update on this? Is that option available in the bios now for xps 15s?
Did you figure out another way to hook up external monitors to the dgpu?
