A couple of questions from a prospective freshman next year!

So I got accepted into the computer science program, and I have a couple of questions for you guys!

1. How's the social life, especially for a quiet guy? I know there's a huge greek system, but is there any point for a regular non-partying person like me to join it?
2. Best place to live on campus?
3. How's the engineering program, and how is the overall feel. Are engineers isolated from the rest of the world? Is there an overwhelming air of competition or is it just chill?
4. What the heck do you guys casually call the university? U of I? UIUC? Illinois? Honestly, I can't seem to get the name roll off the tip of my tongue without sounding a little awkward, haha!

I'm having a hard time trying to figure out where to go (especially because I'm out of state and have to pay a LOT), so if you guys want to try to persuade me, feel free! Thanks!
