In most if not all states, if you have kids, its illegal to live in a home with no running water
Amish btfo
They have amish in NYC?
"in most if not all states"
We are 3 bachelors interested in a home where we get water by walking 50 meters
Why? Especially in the northern usa, where it freezes for weeks at a time...
It’s nyc, it isn’t really cold.

Legally? You won't find that. Building codes in American cities require indoor plumbing.
If you're interested in squatting in an abandoned building, that's trespassing and illegal. It does get complicated because if you squat for long enough (rules vary by location), you may qualify as a tenant and then you're no longer there illegally, but you can be evicted by your landlord, the owner of the building.
Is it legal to reside in a shell that you own, that isn’t electrified and has no water?
Find a time machine and take it back to the Bronx 40ish years ago otherwise you're not going to find what you're looking for near NYC.
Where do you plan to put it? Since you're asking this question at all, I doubt you have a plot of land in the city. Living in a shell such as you describe in NYC, there's a good chance you'd just be considered homeless. It certainly wouldn't meet building codes, which means that the city could insist you bring it up to code or take it down entirely. The US is wealthy. What you're looking for can be done in remote rural areas where no one cares but there are no jobs. In populated areas, there are lots of rules around building homes.
This is not a comprehensive guide to housing laws, but it is a document that should give you an idea of what minimal US housing must contain: water, electricity, and fire exits. https://nycourts.gov/courts/nyc/housing/pdfs/illegalapartment.pdf
I don't live in NYC and I'm not familiar with the details of their housing aid, but this would be a good place for you to start if the three of you can't afford a cheap apartment even split three ways. https://www1.nyc.gov/site/hra/help/i-need-help.page
Nyc won’t help you if you just want cheap rent. Think of it, three bachelors he said, so no kids. Probably no one disabled, why would they help? It’s cold to say, but Nyc is cold. A rough in humane place. Don’t get me wrong I love it thou
I’m morally opposed to welfare for many, many reasons and hate blue states, but I have to be able to get my job in the city.
detroit is the place for you, nyc is very very hard . Even if the three of you somehow split a studio it would still be $500 each. If you found a place far on the outskirts you could squat, the transit costs to get there would eat up al your savings
