"Best team in MLS retains most of roster." Scotty and Knighton probably gone hurts the heart but not really our squad on the field.

Would not be surprised to see one of them stay. But yeah, it'll hurt to say bye to them.

I could see Brad staying, he's a solid backup, good vet in the locker room and on the sideline. I imagine Scotty wants playing time.

Honestly expecting both to stay. First off, both are eligible for free agency so I wouldn't expect a new contract announced until late next week at the earliest after the expansion draft. If one was signed they could conceivably be taken in the expansion draft but if they don't re-sign they could be taken(doubt they would actually be selected either way) but still sign back with the Revs after because they are free agents. I honestly expect them to stay given the added need for depth next year with CCL.

Brad is a solid veteran backup option who they haven't had to pay too much so I can't see why the team would want to move on from him unless he wanted a major raise. For Brad, he's been here since 2014 and is going to be 37 next season so he is getting fairly close to the end of his playing career. He and his family seem to have set down some decent roots here so I get the feeling he is at the point where he wouldn't want to move his kids. I would venture to guess it is either re-sign with the Revs on a team friendly deal or retire and begin coaching(something he has expressed interest in) at an area college or in the Revs academy.

For Scotty, he's obviously a bit younger than Brad as he's about to be 31 and he has been on fairly team friendly deals as well. If the team decides to move on from him I wonder what he would do. Unlike a lot of pro athletes Scotty has actually already prepared for a 2nd career with his Accounting degree. I think the only thing holding him up from getting his CPA is the actual work experience. It wouldn't at all surprise me if Scotty is also in a similar thought process to Brad in that it is play for the Revs or retire.

DeJuan Jones needs a big contract extension asap. He made unbelievable progress this year. They need to keep him happy and if he goes to Europe they need max leverage.

Especially with speculation he'll be leaving for Europe. Would be gross to see him leave on a free.

According to the broadcast booth the other day, he already has one, and he coincidentally has the same birthday as Brandon Bye. The team just somehow must’ve forgotten to post about Jones’ contract extension and birthday, and just posted about Bye’s instead.

Am I the only one surprised we’re still trying to make rennicks happen?

Rennicks is on a HG contract (I think) so no harm in holding him

Ah fair point, I hadn’t considered that.

He's still got plenty of talent there. He's only 22 so there's time to get him to work things out. Don't think Bruce keeps him around if he's dead weight.

I thought Teal was down to an option year, was really worried about losing him. Glad he's coming back. Will really miss Scotty though.

I am a huge Teal stan but I'm wondering how much he has left in the tank. He was not particularly visible on offense this whole year in his time. Still worked his ass off up and down the field but didn't seem to do much as an attacker

What happened to Luis Caicedo? Did his knee not recover?

TMac1088Farrell•

He came back and Bruce played him a few times, but it was pretty sparingly. From what I recall, he didn't do much with those chances, either.

He also played in some Revs II games.

hojbjerfc•

He is exactly what we needed vs NYCFC tho. A midfielder to break up NYCFC’s passing lanes

freakflag16:flag-of-ne:•

We only saw him a bit this year, but it was pretty clear that he was not the same player post knee injury.

3
hojbjerfc•

No way you can say that from his limited minutes. An injury like that takes a while to come back from and you need to play to get back to full fitness

Scotty not being in the lineup on Tuesday likely means he's gone.

I wonder if they keep him around in a Coaching role.

He’ll only be 31 next season, so I wouldn’t be surprised if he’s not ready to hang ‘em up.
