Week's End Music Discussions (And how YOU can participate!)

Hello, MLLTT! Borrowing from our good friend Rainb0w Dashie's idea to do a weekly music discussion, we mods thought it was a fantastic idea and wanted to adapt our own version of it. So here's the general idea so far, bare in mind though that we'll be tweaking this method if need be;

1. Every weekend (Friday - Sunday), or as often as possible, MLLTT will have a new "Week's End Music Discussion", which will bring a focus to a band, genre, musical style, history, or musical curiosities. Again, this may not wind up happening every weekend, but it is the goal.

2. Here's the fun part, at least what we're working with right now; MLLTTers are invited to apply to host their own Week's End discussion! So, have a favorite band you want to share, or any kind of musical topic you'd want to talk about? Awesome. Drop us a line at the mod message box or message #mylittlelistentothis directly with your idea, and if we approve, we'll queue you in for an upcoming discussion. This will work by having you have the topic at hand written up by a certain date and submitted to us for pre-approval, in case you aren't on to share it when the time comes. If you don't make it in time, it's fine, after all, things happen and this doesn't have to be a weekly thing. Like I said, the details are kind of something we'll be playing by ear, since it's still uncertain how this will happen.

"Cool, but how long do I need to make it?"

Don't worry about length. As long as you engage everyone to get them familiar with what you want to share, and provide examples and some background, length has no minimum requirements. This is for fun, after all... not for school! Although admittedly, if you can squeeze in at least a paragraph, that would be... ideal.

"Is there a limit to how many times I can submit?"

Nope, but if other people want to host their own, we'll naturally be spreading them out to give everyone a fair shot.

3. I will be kicking off the first one sometime between tonight and Sunday, with a pretty cool topic, so cool, in fact, that it needs to be split up into multiple parts. So, be on the lookout for Week's End Music Discussion #1: Concept Albums (Part I), coming soon to an MLLTT near you!
