NYE Nightlife Planning - Curfew? Dinner Reservations only? + other questions with unclear answers in this subreddit
Hello!
I did a lot of searching on Google + I've been going through a lot of posts in this subreddit & read through previous posts from the past few months / year + double checked the FAQ page to see if I could the answers to my questions & had no such luck.
Any & all help would be appreciated, thanks! :)
I have a group of 10-12 people that I'm traveling to Tulum with from Dec 26 to Jan 3rd. We are primarily doing beach days, cenotes / day excursions but would like to do ONE night of clubbing type nightlife for New Years Eve and are willing to pay for bottle service for our group.
Aside from Zamna Festival and Papaya Playa Project, I've been having a lot of trouble finding bars/clubs to book reservations at and a lot of places I reached out to gave me NYE dinner reservation packages but no info on bottle service if we just want to come to the bar/club after dinner. Some places don't even have their NYE events or bottle service pricing available yet.
My questions:
- Is there still a current curfew in Tulum as of December 2021? 12 am? 1 am?
- Due to COVID restrictions, are most restaurants/bars only able to offer NYE "dinner" party reservations with the option to stay at the bar after, rather than just outright bottle service?
- Aside from Zamna and Papaya Playa, where else do people do to party on New Years Eve in a club type atmosphere? I saw mentions of IT and Bagatelle, but Bagatelle looks like it closes at 12 am. Also heard back from Casa Jaguar and it looks like their NYE dinner/event only goes until 1 am.
- Can club promoters save you money on tables or is it better to just book directly with the restaurant/bar/club?
- I made a beach club reservation on Open Table but no prepayment was required - is my reservation still guaranteed? I've heard of people having trouble wit this in the past
- What are some places to avoid on NYE?
